About Me

Drop Dead Air (2006) $10Speed Metal From Montreal (2005), $10Shocktwins (2004), $10Destroyer (2002), $10 complete discography available online at http://brettrosenberg.com
"The fifth--and best--album by this sometime member of Graham Parker's backup band is a flawless collection of exacting hooks and memorable melodies. A star in the offing, he offers the ultimate slacker anthem, "I Got Lost," which gets our nod as required listening for teens, 20-somethings and like-minded individuals of all ages."
-- CBS Watch! Magazine, December 2007
"Nashville is swimming in great singer-songwriters and monster guitarists, but the two talents aren’t often found in the same human being. This sometime Graham Parker sideman moved to town 10 months ago, and has been making his presence known at local venues, both avec et sans band. (Search YouTube for a live performance of his new song “Taken,” which shows he rocks just fine by himself.) Rosenberg looks a bit like a young Dylan, with whom he shares a dry wit, though musically he hews more toward his admitted influences, including Lindsey Buckingham, the Stones, Rockpile and Loudon Wainwright III. His performances are typically peppered with some pretty hysterical asides taken from real-life experience.
--Jack Silverman, Nashville Scene, February 2008
"Brett Rosenberg plays poppy Paul Westerberg-style rock songs that are fairly impossible to dislike."
--Time Out New York
"Brett Rosenberg always remains uniquely himself projecting a point of view that is paradoxically scathing and vulnerable...One of the finest songwriters of melodic rock music, period."
--S. McDuffer, Allmusic
"Mildly likable late-Squeeze-via-Ben-Folds-style purity-poppers from Boston, notable for the goofy album title Speed Metal From Montreal and a CD cover where their one girl member flirts with a gorilla hosting a TV talk show." --Chuck Eddy, the Village Voice
"Bebe Buell's 50th birthday bash in the Big Apple had a definite Boston flavor, and not just because Liv Tyler -- Buell's bewitching daughter with Aerosmith screamer Steven Tyler -- was in attendance. Backing Buell were three members of the Boston band the Rudds: John Powhida, Tony Goddess, and Brett Rosenberg....Rosenberg says it's been a blast gigging with Buell, and hanging out afterward with her famous friends and family members.'I was talking to Jimmy Fallon at the show, and as he was leaving he said, "See ya, Brett," ' chuckled Rosenberg. 'I'm on a first-name basis with the guy. Pretty cool, right?'"
--Carol Beggy & Mark Shanahan, Boston Globe, July 14, 2006
"Brett's another songwriter who's much better than he gets credit for. He's made a better Elvis Costello record here than Elvis has made in at least a decade."
--Amanda Nichols, Chunklet Magazine

That's my press. I play pop music with some rockin' single-coil guitar antics thrown in. Booking agents may be pleased to know I've played with Damien Rice, Josh Ritter, Nikki Sudden, James Kochalka, John Doe, Of Montreal, Jesse Malin, and Brendan Bensen, among others. As a sideman, I do or have done stuff with the great Graham Parker, sportswriter/legend/ESPN commentator Peter Gammons, singer-songwriter Amy Loftus and even had a stint as a member of model-turned-bestselling-author Bebe Buell's band. I turned 29 in January and here I am in Nashville, working on another record. You can hear some of the new stuff on this page. Hope you like it. I'll be on the road this Fall, so keep checking back for updates. Email me at brettrosenberg at gmail dot com if you wanna get on mailing list. Visit http://brettrosenberg.com for everything else.
