Hi, My name is Amy Loftus and I am a singer/songwriter. I have been playing shows and releasing independent records since 2005. I recently moved back to Los Angeles after a six year stint in Nashville, TN. My newest release is a digital only EP called "Peas and Carrots". I am currently working on new songs here in LA. Influences: my Grandpa at the piano singing "five foot two eyes of blue" with a manhattan in his hand, my mom and her musicals, my preschool teacher with her turqouise rings and her acoustic guitar, the moment my aunt quietly sang "Moon Shadow" to me when i was little, Annie Lennox, Sinead O'Connor, John Martyn, Bruce Springsteen, Carly Simon, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, Olivia Newton John, Loretta and Dolly, Stevie Nicks, Diana Ross, and countless other male and female recording artists (especially those who can write a song you can enter and hang out in all your life) art school, Second City, ballet, driving, dialects, faeries, angels, good spirits, figurative paintings, people who truly care, Andrew Wyeth, Georgia O'Keefe, Wallace Black Elk, Muhammed Ali, Louise Hay, Michael Lutin, Maya Angelou, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Billy Collins, Emily Dickinson, Meryl Streep, Joyce Carol Oates, changing seasons, vinyasa yoga, the wind, the ocean, life itself.
