Blaine Patterson

I dream of a galaxy where your eyes are the stars, and the universe worships the night.

About Me

First, and most important, I'm a geek. If you understand that, you'll be a long way towards understanding me.

My name is Blaine Patterson. I was born in Burlington, Ontario and lived there until moving to Windsor to study Computer Science at the University.

I'm currently out of school going through physiotherapy following back surgery in September. I hope to be back in school for the summer semester, which starts in May.

Generally, I'm a pretty introverted person. I've spent most of my life on the computer, so I find it hard to "get out there" to meet people. (One of the reasons I joined up here: Hopefully I'll be able to meet some interesting people.). I am (slowly) getting better. But it is hard to make such changes to a personality thats been developed over so many years.

I have a blog (outside of MySpace) which I wrote the script for myself. Its located here . Most of the posts I make there I will cross-post here, but there may be some that I don't, so go check it out too ;)

So, there you go. Now you know a lot about me. If you want to know more, or if you want to debate with me about atheism vs religion, religion vs science, etc, or you just want to chat, send me a message. I'd love to hear from you :)

One of those survey dealies

My Interests

Computers, Anime/Manga, science fiction, programming, internet, forums, chat, etc.

I'd like to meet:

My Imzadi

I'm just looking for someone who is kind, caring, intelligent... Someone who can accept me as I am, who understands what its like to be an outsider.

Old friends, new friends, strangers who could be friends.

Please don't just try to add me to increase your friend count. If you actually want to be my friend, message me first. Unless you're someone I already know personally, I'll probably deny you otherwise.

Favourite Quotes:

"I have been, and always shall be, your friend."

"All right, it's instinctive. But the instinct can be fought. We're human beings with the blood of a million savage years on our hands. But we can stop it. We can admit that we're killers but we're not going to kill today. That's all it takes-knowing that we're not going to kill...today. ... Peace or utter destruction-it's up to you."

"It's the rain. It's the storm we all have to endure. We hate it. But it's every raindrop -- it's every harsh element that runs down our faces that traces out who we are. Our shape. It reveals the passion, the deffiance, the space in the world the rain cannot displace. We are beautiful. It's the world that's ugly. But never loose hope, for the same ugly world that sends the rain -- also gives us the sun."

"Nothing makes us more vulnerable than when we love someone. We can be hurt very easily. But I've always believed that what you *get* when you love someone... is greater than what you risk."

"But you can't go through life trying to avoid getting a broken heart. If you do, it'll break from loneliness, anyway. So, you might as well take a chance. If you don't, she'll move on, and you'll never know what you might have had. And living with that is worse than having a broken heart."

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

I could go on an on ;)
