Cornelius Renfrow is a musician, song writer and producer. A musical child prodigy born in Bailey, North Carolina, Cornelius was raised in a Christian home and was encouraged by his mother to seek God’s will for his life. His musical inclination and talent were discovered and have been nurtured since the impressionable age of 4 years old and in the year 2000, he was officially ordained Minister of Music. Some of his musical proficiencies include keyboard, piano, organ, bass, key bass and lead guitar.Cornelius possesses more than 12 years of Music Director experience. In addition to his ministry within the Church, Cornelius has had the opportunity to collaborate on a number of video recordings featured on BET as well as The Word Network. Among the national recording artists he has musically accompanied are Ben Tankard (with whom he completed a 2 year concert tour), Shirley Caesar, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, Timothy Wright, Gary Oliver, Helen Baylor, Harvey Watkins, The Christianaires, Dorothy Norwood, John Butler, Maurette Brown-Clark (with whom he served briefly as Musical Director), Beverly Crawford, Reverend Thomas L. Walker, The Barnes Family, Johnny Sanders, Twinkie Clarke, Kim Burrell, The Anointed Jackson Sisters and Deborah Barnes (where he currently serves as Musical Director). Some of his concert venues include The Luther Barnes Fall Gospel Classics (2000-2003 and 2005), The Essence Awards Festival (2001) and The New Orleans Jazz Festival (2000). Cornelius continues to maintain a tour schedule with various National Recording Artists at least once a year.
With over 20 years of musical training and experience in the music industry, Cornelius co-founded Key 2 Life Music Group which is a full service production Company. Since the induction of Keys 2 Life, Cornelius has produced music for artists such as Kim Person, Walter Hardy, Shontae Hill and Deborah Barnes in addition to various local artists. Cornelius is also the Producer and Musical Director for the Mother Spirit Comedy Show.
Cornelius devotes his time to Keys 2 Life Music Group where the vision is to cultivate a trust worthy professional environment where musicians can be educated and mentored while meeting the marketing, promotion, production and distribution needs of musical artists. Because of Cornelius’ familiarity and working relationships with a plethora of musicians nationwide, Cornelius is notably retained to form bands for artists and recording companies, tours, concerts and plays. Cornelius is a current member of Naris.
Currently, Cornelius is the Music Director at Evangelistic Church of Deliverance in Weldon, North Carolina, where he is a member. In addition to being Music Director, he has had the opportunity to be a musician as well as server as Director for several other churches in his local area. He also sings background vocals for his local church’s Praise Team. The average person would probably tire from this schedule, but Cornelius has music in his spirit and loves serving in music ministry.
