"The world is like a ride in an amusement park and when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and around and around and it has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud. And it's fun - for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question; is this real? Or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, and they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because... this is just a ride."

How I made my profile:
I used MyWackoSpace.com 's amazing MySpace Editor .Christophe Vindevogel, aka MarX, born 26 february 1979. Why MarX? And why music and alwayz music?
I don't know. It just is. I reckon it all began with my uncle, who had seen and livedthe sixties, with whom I was listening to older records, stuff like Led Zeppelin, BlackSabbath and Uriah Heep. This type of music blew me away, especially when it wasplayed at a very loud level in my uncle's house.
I began to collect these older type of hard rock and the need to be an active partof the music itself grew as time passed by. So at birthday 14 I got myself a guitar, ablack Fender stratocaster that my mom bought me for my birthday. I felt evil andcool at that time: I had a guitar and -strange- it was good.
I taught myself to play guitar at that time, with books and stuff but really as anautodidact. I learned the most from what I heard on the radio and frommy records. I started with Led Zeppelin, Rage against the Machine, Nirvana, all kindsof blues, an so on...As I grew older, I felt the need to search for other musical techniques to expressmyself. So at the age of 17 I bought myself a Mac, an Akai sampler and also aYamaha RM1X. Other perspectives revealed themselves and it was superb at thattime coz everything was so damn new for me. I almost forget to mention that atthat age I started to listen to what u could call 'progressive' electronic music, likeDaft Punk -who released their first album at that time- or Richie Hawtin. Music andespecially techno/house was changing, evolving to something different, fresh andoriginal.
So, the next logical step were the decks, Technics turntables (off course!): I was aDJ! I started to buy tons of records, different kinds of dance-music. Triphop stufflike Shadow, Krush. Also bought loads of drum 'n bass records, spinned at some dnbgigs but never really got into it. Nowadays I'm still spinning but most of the time it'shouse/tech-house, funky stuff & disco shizzle. Call it 'turntabilism to relax' and toget inspired (stoned most of the time)....So, combine all these elements I've just told u about and u got MarX and the music.Coz the music I make reflects who I am... I guess. It could be housy today, buttomorrow it could be a bluesy track or maybe nasty grunkelectro. I could be usingmy pc, a drumcomputer and my guitar, or maybe something else. The song could beabout love or about the end of the world or just about noiz or about a horse and asheep that are friends and who want to change the world but the horse says that'sa stupid idea coz they're just two and so they just sit there and do nothing....
It's all about the mood I guess. And also the fact that I'm bored when I'm alwaysmaking the same type of music. I like to move, to change. I make music, not a typeof it. Or at least, that's what I try. The aim is always music, the only universallanguage.
