About Me

WELL TRAINED MONKEY

is: Wayne Sayres, Minneapolis based musician and composer. Pleasedtameetcha!

Most of the tracks featured here are studio numbers produced in Fractal Music 2000 and Rhythm Rascal and then worked up further in Adobe Audition. I'll often add live instrumentation after the programming phase is completed. I play guitar, bass, and alto saxophone in addition to software tweakage and sampler bleeps. I write and compose songs in a variety of styles from electronica to folk to Polynesian to jazz and rock, so there will be more material coming up that will be in different styles entirely. Check on back now and then for more.

Frequent collaborators for me have included Rube and Groove 633 (see below).

Currently I get out to play live sax occasionally with the great Minneapolis band Lost Marbles. You can catch the Marbles every first, third, and occasionally fifth Monday night of the month at Whiskey Junction on Minneapolis' West Bank, it's always a damn good time!
