About Me

Hello All, this is our second myspace after the first one was thoroughly defecated on by un-namable individuals...but on to the good stuff:
Wynne Records is a very tightly knit group of friends putting out music that we love. We have been able to build a strong community in the local music scene in suburban Philadelphia, and we are quickly spreading through the city. Our goal is to help create and distribute music we love made by our good friends. We like to keep things local and personal.
Wynne is currently breathing by the efforts of Andrew, Rob, Sam, Hollis and occasionally Gabe and Kleger. We are continuing to develop a more diverse music scene, and in the process, opening alot of minds to new and alternative ways of doing things. We are interested in in local musicians who give heartfelt and high energy performances and take great care in crafting thier songs.
In addition to helping with recording and promoting artists, we serve as a collective of sorts. Wynne is about creating a family, with everyone helping each other out and working on new projects together. We take pride in our bands and back them 100% with what they want to see happen. We encourage lablemates to have fun and be experimental and to forget about "Business." Everyone with Wynne shares strong support for a DIY way of work.
We are no doubt growing. Our artists are performing more and more in basements and small, all aged, diy venues all over the area and we are all making wonderful new friends all of the time.
We plan on continuing in this direction and spreading the positivity!
We also host our own shows at a pizza place and in a w. philly suburb basement among other places so if youre interested in trading shows, by all means send me something.
Also if you want to do something creative with us or have us help in anyway, we will see what we can do.
Please Donate We dont take any money it is a self-fulfilling thing

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Univox : "We’re a group of musicians whose sole purpose is to score points impressing people in the vain attempt to absolve ourselves of failure and sadness."

When Cars Ascend: is a prog/indie/psychedelic/folk/post-rock band from Downingtown, PA with overwhelmingly good guitars, drums, bass and lyrics that make you think. They compare themselves to Modest Mouse, the Flaming Lips, and the Velvet Underground. They are currently spreading the great word of When Cars Ascned all around the Philadelphia area.

GOWTRON: is an alien and an insurance salesman. They like to play shows that tend to get a little crazy. They also like to remove clothing in this process. Sometimes, they’re compared to early Modest Mouse, sometimes to old Fugazi, sometimes to Explosions In The Sky. They don’t understand these comparisons. In short, fear of nipples + GOWTRON = bad experience.

Rasputins Secret Police: met between 3rd and 4th grade when Brandon and Josh realized they lived across the street from each other. Brandon of course is the guitarist, and from the future. Josh plays the drums (quite hard) and was raised by the Iroqouis. Together they began writing rather short songs. Soon they got better equipment and started churning out slightly longer songs. Basically see them in concert, bring comfortable shoes because you will be dancing, a lot.

Cricket Joe: or Shaun Carr (as he’s referred to on the mean streets of Downingtown), is an acoustic act. Cricket writes and performs folk and indie music. His songs feature sarcastic and amusing vocals, which clearly show his influences; Bright Eyes, Modest Mouse, and Kimya Dawson to name a few. Look for Cricket in open-mic nights all over the tri-county area and just about any concert Wynne Records is associated with.

The Pyschodelicates: Formed in 2001 by Cody Wren [guitar, vocals] (and henceforth going through many different names) The Psychodelicates also features Andrew Benrubi, Steve Fitzpatrick, and Brandon Ayres. Their sound is usually calm and groovy with psychedelic tones and skewed melodies, influenced especially by Devandra Banhart, the Animal Collective, Acid, and Hollis. However, this band is known to inject plenty of energy into their sets as well. They can often be found jamming acousticly in and around Philadelphia, or riding three people on a bike in and around Drexel Hill.
Influences: West Philly, lots of music, lots of art, lots of books.
