The Director

add me as a friend and you might make it in my film

About Me

I'm an incredibly gifted and brilliant Director originally from Slovakia. I was recently fired from a production at Universal Studios because my work frightened the executives there. "A little too real for them," they said. A bunch of stuffed suits. No one understands me. Or my genius. But you all will soon. Currently I'm in the process of finishing my masterpiece in the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot. And I need fresh talent.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Actors, and non-actors, living in and around Los Angeles. People willing to suffer for my craft. Can you scream really loud? Are you willing to do anything to make it in the business? Are you available this October? Meet me in the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot during Halloween Horror Nights and if I deem you worthy, you may just find yourself with a starring role in my latest masterpiece. Only by adding me as a friend will you find out if you make the cut.

My full name is Pavel Pranevsky and I got my start as a filmmaker back in my native country of Slovakia. From the very beginning, I was obsessed with making films that felt “real.” Films that would unnerve and horrify my viewer. This reality proved too much for some and ultimately got me blacklisted from the Slovakian film community in 2002. It was then that I fled to Hollywood in search of real artistic freedom.

After a few years of making self-financed “reality” films, I was recently hired by Universal Studios to make “the ultimate horror film.” In fact, the Studio was so excited about the script that they gave me complete creative freedom on the set. Filming began on 06-06-06 and only when the Studio screened the dailies did it become apparent to them what they’d asked for. Turns out they had no idea what the “ultimate horror film” really meant. Outraged by the content of my film, Universal Studios fired me, shelved my film, and demanded I leave the Universal Studios lot immediately.

But I didn’t leave.

I now call the abandoned facades and thick wilderness of Universal Studios Hollywood backlot my home. Nothing and no one will stop me from completing my masterpiece. Over the last few months, I’ve eluded the Studio’s security by hiding in the dense brush of the hills during the day. And at night, my filming begins. Universal Studio Hollywood’s working attractions have become my sets.

Unwilling tourists have become my actors – often cast after being spotted from the shadows from which I watch them. Occasionally, during these “casting sessions,” I have been videotaped by tourists making their vacation movies – many of which have ended up on various sites on the Internet. But none of this matters. My desire for finding fresh talent will continue. My masterpiece will be completed. This October, Universal Studios Hollywood, and the crowds attending Halloween Horror Nights, will get a taste of reality that they won’t soon forget.| View Slideshow
