In June 2006, guitarist Kit Dean and drummer Tommy Tinnitus parted from Scarlot
Harlot, an Alt-country/Punk band from Greensboro, NC and joined forces, combining
their musical visions to create a new concept in sound – Crap Rock. A solid mix of
classic punk, three-chord rock, alternative/Indie riffs and lyrics that reflect the brokenheartedness
of a country song, Crap Rock reflects back to punk-style garage rock and
Indie rock from the 1980s. After witnessing their first show in August 2006, singersongwriter
Mikey “Gino†Roohan, who plays guitar, bass and drums in three local bands
as well as for his solo projects, was intrigued by the sound. He joined Dean and Tinnitus
on bass, completing the All Star line-up. Roohan fit in immediately and together they
began a very pleasant and agreeable journey into Crap-rockdom. The three musicians are
good friends who play well together and deliver a tremendous performance at each show.
Each week, the band rehearsal is followed by a family-style dinner prepared by Mama
Dean where the music is openly discussed over good food and a few drinks.
After building a solid fanbase and a praiseworthy reputation in Greensboro, NC, The
Crap Rock All Stars have traveled to play to audiences in surrounding cities, spreading
the dynamic doctrine of Crap Rock, which has been lauded and well-received
everywhere. The group has recorded their first full-length album which is still in
production and due for release in Fall, 2007. The cohesiveness, passion, and innate
talents of all the band members shine through both in this live recording and during their
live performances, achieving a sound that hints at the musical stylings of The
Replacements, Weezer, Pixies, Husker Du, Pavement and early Nirvana. For booking inquiries, please email [email protected]
