Saxophonist Niels Rosendahl is currently based in Canberra, Australia working as a sideman/session musician and band leader in a diverse range of musical genres.
In 2005, Niels graduated from the Australian National University, School of Music with First Class Honours, University Medal and the Peter & Lena Karmel award for most outstanding music graduate. With the aid of a BBM Scholarship, Niels lived in Edinburgh and London between 2006 and 2008. There he studied with internationally renowened saxophonists Tommy Smith and Gilad Atzmon. Niels appeared regularly in the London jazz scene and also worked frequently with the jazz collective JazzArc and the band Organum. Niels also worked as a reeds player in two European tours with the West End Show "Rat Pack - Live From Las Vegas" and two European tours with Frank White's "Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra". As well as the Australia and the UK, Niels has also performed in Ireland, France, Norway, Denmark, Poland, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Viet Nam and has performed at world famous venues such as the Ronnie Scott's and the Vortex jazz clubs in London and the Olympia in Paris.
