About Me

Anna is an improvising violinist from south eastern Australia. She learnt the violin from an early age in the traditional way and later became interested in Jazz in high school. This inspired her to audition for the ANU School of Music's Jazz course which she graduated from at the end of 2004 with a Bachelor of Music (Jazz Violin) with First Class Honours. She is blessed to have studied with the great musicians/lecturers of the ANU faculty, notably Tor Fromhyr (Violin) and American Jazz Bassist Eric Ajaye (Jazz Improvisation). Anna has performed at many Australian festivals including Manly and Wangaratta Jazz Festivals with the ANU Recording & Commercial Ensembles and the "Six Eights".
Anna is greatly inspired by jazz violinists Didier Lockwood and Jean Luc Ponty and hopes to see their live performances whilst in Europe in mid 2007.
Anna has been a member of bands such as the "Six Eights" and "Rosendahl's Pardi with Strings"(co-leader) and has performed and recorded with many other local artists from a variety of genres.
Her recording credits include "Impossibly Simple" by Niels Rosendahl (2007) and "Another Year" by "Straight Up!" (2007) where she appeared as a guest artist.
Anna enjoys arranging and composition and is currently working on pieces for her first album.
