About Me

First off, go to www.sladeham.com . That's a rule. I wrote it.
With that said, welcome to my page. You either came on purpose or on accident, or you are doing some psychodelic drug that prevents you from realizing you are even here in the first place... in which case all this black and brown is probably saying something profound to you right now. Write it down, it may be important.
Anything you want to know probably has already found it's way into my blog. I'm a typical Type A personality. I vitrually live off caffeine and nicotene. I probably won't like you. I find myself giving advice much more easily than I take it. Things always work out for me. Always. I surround myself with people that are more successful than I am. I am a college drop out and quite proud of it. I am incapable of being unhappy as long as I have my motorcycle and my iPod. I have fallen down enough to not be afraid of it anymore. People gravitate to me and I don't always understand why. The truth remains the funniest thing I could ever talk about. I have two cats, and I really don't give a shit what anyone thinks about that. While I don't hate it, I also don't get many urges to eat ice cream. I am not easily intimidated. I am addicted to adrenaline. I also spend a lot of time at a particular coffee shop clearing my head so I can fill it back up. Battlestar Galactica is quite possibly the best show on television. I have never broken a bone, but I have had a ridiculous amount of stitches. I believe it's important to help wherever you can, though only when it isn't enabling the person you're helping. I am not sure how many countries I have been to. Accountability and taking responsibility are incredibly important to me. I own one pair of tennis shoes, and I don't know where they are. There are certain people I would not save from drowning. Some of them are children. I'm only being honest. Rock music is my vice, world music is my mistress. I am superficial when it comes to women, though I cannot be around anyone for any extended period of time if they are not completely brilliant. I remain in awe that anyone might have read this this far. Chocolate Pop Tarts rock. So does fried food.

Frustration You Can Believe In

You don't have any idea how dangerously close I am to puncturing my eardrums with this pen. The one time I find myself at a coffee shop without my laptop happens to also be the one time I should not ...

This Is Morning

It's 6am on a Saturday. Apparently jet lag has hit me for the first time. I think I might have been awake a total of four hours yesterday. I fell asleep for good around 7 or 8 last night, and just wo...

Iraq Part 2

I've tried. Several times actually. I've tried to figure out a way to put the last week or so into words, and every time I do I end up deleting it. I'm not deleting this attempt I've decided. When I ...

Iraq Part 1

Rarely do I know so little beforehand about what to expect from a trip.  I've left the States enough times now that I don't even think about it the night before.  I know what to expect& a d...

The Universe Has Spoken Pt. 2

I am so behind on my creative output lately. I leave for the Middle East this weekend, and I know I'll find plenty to write about while I'm there. Still, I thought I should do something a little more...

I Don’t Know Any Other Way to Put It...

When I was six or seven, I got sent to my room for something certainly quite trivial. Of all the times I'm sure I received that same punishment, I remember that particular one. I remember it because ...

Free Association 2

I have rewritten this sentence no less than twenty times. Not the same sentence over an over, but a new sentence to replace the one I deleted. I have writer's block. It's the reason I haven't posted ...

See Slade. See Slade Run. Sort Of.

I think it's hilarious that most people think that my quitting smoking is the setup for some soon to follow punch line. It's not. I promise. The thing is, while I choose to not be a smoker anymore, I...

Organizationalism

It's amazing that I don't do drugs. Sometimes I have to stop and replay some of my days to make sure that I didn't. Apparently my mind works in it's normal state the way some people function when the...
