Mac Steven Whittinghill was born September 16th, 1980. Mac Started playing music
on pots and pans at the young ass age of 2. His first love was Drums. After over coming the incoheriant ages of childhood, Mac starting learning his craft at the age of 11 on guitar. He wrote his first song when he was 14. Being very much aware of his surroundings and mentality, he wrote about what he saw, felt, heard, and fucked.
His major influences came from the writings of THE DOORS. After years of practice Mac pursued a serious career in the music business at the age of 17. By this time he had already wrote many songs and had recorded a self produced CD entitled "MAC hidden Identity". He wrote all the songs and played all the instruments. Which became a huge hit locally. Plus he became the lead singer of the local band AquaLung. The name was changed to TOTEMSOUL after he wrote 12 songs to record a record of his original material.
He spent the next 8 years developing over 100 songs and recorded 2 more albums with TOTEMSOUL. After the original members of TOTEMSOUL quit, Mac found Jon Postins (drums) and Travis Wilson (Bass). In 2 months, they re-developed 9 songs and developed 3 new songs and recorded the newest collection of songs. The Album was called "Shortcut to Thinking". In the past year TOTEMSOUL has toured non stop through out the North and South East, playing almost 100 shows. Their MYSPACE PAGE is receiving over 600 plays a day and it's non stop for TOTEMSOUL.
