My Old Bands

About Me

I have been in many bands over the years. In College I played in a simple acoustic duet with a gal named Ruth Peterson. We called ourselves Swallowed a Fly. After college I was in a band called Spill. We rocked south-western Connecticut hard! Upon moving to Los Angeles I joined forces with two guys from Mississippi to form GO! DOG! GO!. We signed to micro label Risk records (which turned out to be a prophetic name to say the least) and released two 7" singles and one album, 'Glad to Be Unhappy', produced by Mark Trombino of Drive Like Jehu fame. We toured a tiny bit but then broke up. The album is still available on eBay for real cheap. The drummer from GO! DOG! GO!, Tim Christopher, and I kept together and formed Build Your Own Monster with bassist Annie Chang. We self-released one album 'Giant-Sized Wonderment' which you can still get from me for cheap or it is up on iTunes as well. I also have t-shirts which I would love to get rid of. Make an offer! After that band broke up I recorded a few of my quieter songs at home in my loft under the moniker 'Quote/Unquote'. Since then I have focused on my filmmaking and directing music videos. Check out some of the videos I have done lately. If you need a video made for your band - contact me!

Add to My Profile | More VideosThe first video I did for The Messies. Sorry the compression is so crappy. It really looks better than this. Fun stuff though.
Influences: All my favorite bands seem to be from D.C. - The Dismemberment Plan, Shudder To Think, Jawbox, Fugazi, Smart Went Crazy, Most Secret Method, Beauty Pill, Faraquet, Burning Airlines, Q and not U - all from D.C. I like fiercely independent music. I don't listen to radio. I hate being force-fed music. Anyone who says there is no good music today is just not looking hard enough. It may have gone deeper underground but it is there. Take some time and find it.
Sounds Like: Lots of stuff from simple to complex. In the loud bands we always tried for a combination of Fugazi, Jawbox, Drive Like Jehu, Pavement and Helmet.
Type of Label: None
