About Me

I am an energetic and outgoing force of nature who also likes to kick back and go with the flow. I am an exceptionally driven person as well and once I've set my mind on something there is no putting a stop to me. Because I am involved in Theatre and have a degree in Drama, I try and keep all real-life drama to an ultimate minimum. I don't cause commotions, I simply am one. As any true dichotomy, I am very light-hearted and soft-spoken, however, I have a dark sense of humor that compliments my inner desire to "tell it like it is." This sometimes gets me into trouble -- but it's nothing I can't handle. ;) I can also be very caring and wise. I have the courage to stand up for what I feel is right and I do my best to create change for the better.
I keep myself busy acting, dancing, and singing on stage. I'm also re-training myself to play the piano and sight read music. I often will take classes in my time off to continue my training...learning and developing does not end with a degree or a diploma. The Stage isn't just a place of performance to me ... it is a place of Drama and Magic. Creating good Theatre is a true craft of invoking and expressing human emotions. The theatrical process from choosing a script to the final close and strike is a very spiritual process for me; and in many ways the theatre was my first teacher of life.
I am a Neo-Pagan and only slightly out of the broom closet. Surprise! That's right, we exist in the real world...and there are many of us! Let's just get this out of the way: I'm not a Witch from the storybooks, Harry Potter or the movies. I don't have "Charmed" superpowers, and I don't dance naked by the full moon...oh, wait--yes I do. Pay no attention to that last one there. To put it very simply: I believe in the great power and energies of Life and the Earth.
I read as often as possible. I read everything I can get my hands on, and that's really saying something because my business is books. I believe that it is important to continue growing and learning throughout life. A lesson can be taken from even the most mundane situations. I like live performance of any kind so I spend a lot of time going to plays, concerts and different shows around town. Somedays I do tend to live the life of a hermit. I like to read, garden, and make clothes & jewelry. I frequent the new age and health shops in the downtown area, and I love bookstores and the Seattle Library! I meditate often and love to train (musically and physically) in my spare time. But you will find that I am rarely at home. I can be spotted in down town Seattle playing it up in the kareoke bars, or perhaps taking mr phluph (my cat) on walks to local parks. I am often heard humming under my breath and am more often caught singing at the top of my lungs when i think that no one is pay attention. I stand and speak with confidence and laugh loudly. I walk with grace and have a bounce in my step. I am not easily embarrassed and you would never use the word shy describe me. However, I have to know and love you well before I let you know the life beneath my jade skin.

Welcome, my green brothers and sisters and fellow thespians! I love to gab about books, actors, musicals, and movies. To those of you with dissimilar interests: if you have any questions or just want to talk, feel free to send me a message. I'm looking to talk with like-minded or open minded people, and I'd love to hear from you.

Drinking Alone Under The Moon

Among the flowers from a pot of wine
I drink alone beneath the bright moonshine.
I raise my cup to invite the moon, who blends
Her light with my shadow and we're three friends.
The moon does not know how to drink her share;
In vain my shadow follows me here and there.
Together with them for the time I stay
And make merry before spring's spend away.
I sing the moon to linger with my song;
My shadow disperses as I dance along.
Sober, we three remain cheerful and gay;
Drunken, we part and each goes his way.
Our friendship will outshine all earthly love;
Next time we'll meet beyond the stars above.

- Li Bai

Music:

I love musicals. Don't get me wrong, I like all types of music...but I LOVE musicals. Give me a tap dance over a mosh pit any day.

I especially like the dark musicals, they appeal to my sense of humor. Sweeny Todd, Parade, Bat Boy, Chicago, Cabaret, Little Shop, Jekyll and Hyde, Avenue Q, Ragtime, The Last Five Years, Assassins, and pretty much anything by Sondheim. And I have quite a soft spot for the big dance shows: A chorus Line, 42nd Street, Fosse, Hairspray, oh I could go on and on...

Movies:

I like too many movies to name them all. My favorite directors are Tim Burton, Baz Luhrmann, Allan Ball, Kevin Smith, Quentin Tarantino, M. Night Shyamalan, Stanley Kubrick, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Peter Jackson, Sam Raimi, and several others.

Guess my favorite movie... ;)

Television:

I don't watch a lot of TV; living in the city there's just too much to do. I do happen to think South Park is brilliant though...just because they so carefully offend everyone.

Books:

I read as much as possible. Fiction and Non-Fiction...recently it's been more non-fiction. My home library is now starting to overflow. Does this mean that I need to slim down my collection? No, it means I need more book shelves. :)

See where the Green Girls alter ego, Bookstore Girl, originated. "Thank you, have a nice day!"

Heroes:

Yoda and Kermit the Frog. Hey, it's not easy being green.
