Axis of Conversation

Don't be alarmed...there's a carcass.

About Me

Recently, Axis of Conversation retreated to a borrowed room. It was a tumultuous time for the band: birth, death and car accidents were among what was being dealt with.
They spent two months hiding from daylight, and emerged with ’Delusions of Safety’.
It could be said that the music contained is both melodic and experimental, and touches pop music both at its core and its boundaries.
At times, songs are presented in a conventional language.
Elsewhere, stolen voices stir below floating guitars.
Dirty drumbreaks reconcile with heartbroken strings.
And the voice of a French girl is fondled...
’Delusions of Safety’ is now available at your favourite music store.

Sounds Like: ...the place where pop melodies, hip-hop sensibilities, art-rock shimmer and hushed psychedelia meet and make babies. Some people say our EP sounds like this:
"Setting the mood with ghostly murmurs in the opening track, 'There’s Hope for You Yet (just kidding)' tightens its grip by the second track’s two minute mark. Slinking along with the breathy, warm cadence of Tricky, Chris dela Torre’s vocals prove to be the best part of the project. More confident and versatile than usual bedroom recordings, Axis of Conversation strongly distinguish themselves with absorbing melodic experiments in sound." -Aubrey McInnis, FFWD Weekly.
"Though he's experimented with ambient, samply-heavy pop on his own for years, Chris dela Torre's decision to find a full back to back him up was brilliant. On their debut EP, voices, melodies and instruments float in and out effortlessly, like a soundtrack to a pleasant dream." -Jesse Locke, BeatRoute Magazine.
