About Me

I've been described a lot of different ways by a lot of different people. Somebody once called me "the most complicated 'simple guy' you'll ever meet." I can be passionate, studious, intense, as well as laid-back. I prefer to listen more than talk. If you've a story to tell, I'll listen to it. Hell, I'll even buy you a beer.I'm an author and a musician, but I have a dayjob (go figure!)...***NOTE: It's almost that time of year again, so if you want to catch me, you'd do well to do that soon, as I'll be occupied watching hockey from Oct. 3rd - June 6th. ;o)***

How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace profile editor .

My Interests

Writing, reading, music, travel, people, the 1930s + '40s, general history, traditions, culture, intellectualism, Coca-Cola, coffee, late-night drives (as well as late-night living), letters, down-home cooking, DETROIT RED WINGS!!... and the list goes on from there.

I'd like to meet:

People of all types and descriptions. I'm not too picky about it. I tend to have more in common with people older than myself, but I've a number of very close friends that are younger than I am. Pretty much the only requirement is that I don't suffer fools gladly.

Music:

..

Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt, Billy Bragg, Jeffrey Foucault, Woody Guthrie, Eric Clapton, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy's, Robert Earl Keen, Steve Forbert, Lyle Lovett, Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ray Price ... everything from country/folk/bluegrass, rock'n'roll, blues, jazz, some punk all the way up to symphonies. As long as it's good, I'll be into it.

Movies:

Hud, Ghettysburg, Freak Talks About Sex... I don't know. I don't really watch too many movies, 'cause I lose patience with them, and go out for a smoke somewhere in the middle, then pace around for a while, and miss most of the story.

Television:

Law & Order, House, lots of stuff on the discovery/history channels.

Books:

Lowell, McMurtry, Bukowski, Jerome, Eliot, Faulkner, etc.

Heroes:

Woody Guthrie

Poor Blogging Skills & New Photos

It was recently pointed out that I have poor blogging skills, as I have managed to leave up old blogs for years at a time without any remorse, and evidently I used to have a problem making paragraphs....
