Strange Brew

A tasty mix of new & classic rock!

About Me

Strange Brew presents: a tasty mix of original rock and danceable rock hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and present day! From Led Zeppelin, The Who and Janis Joplin - to Blondie and the Ramones - to Los Lonely Boys, Evanescence and Green Day - it's the best of new and classic rock in one terrific show...
Eric Suriner began playing guitar at age 13, inspired by the sounds of Santana, Cream, and Dokken - among the many influences he incorporates in his unique style that's both aggressive and precise. He met Michael Doney in the band Take That! and in 1992 they founded Strange Brew. In addition to keyboards and vocals, Mike's versatile skills also include harmonica, accordion and saxophone.
Vocalist and percussionist Karen Shaw has been performing since childhood, including appearances with local greats The Boss Tweeds and Branded. She honed her powerful pipes fronting the dance/rock band Pirate Radio before joining the Brew Crew in 2001. To find out more about Karen, click on her profile in Strange Brew's Top Friends below.
New York City native Ron Cummings' thoroughly danceable bass style shows his experience in many genres, including reggae, jazz, and funk. His accomplishments to date include work with Jennifer Greer, Secret School, Reggae Vision and Saturn & The Outer Planets.
Well-recognized in the Springfield/Valley music scene, drummer Don Avezzie established his reputation in the 90s with powerpop cover band Syren. He is also known to keep the beat for acoustic rockers SoloTurn and the popular Neil Diamond tribute The Diamond Collection.
You can count on Strange Brew for an evening of tasty danceable rock that you won't forget. Come on out to a show and see it for yourself!
