Godfathers of Narcotic Rock

About Me

SPORK, the self-proclaimed Godfathers of Narcotic Rock, are South Floridas only original alternative rock band of significance. Their music effortlessly blends the honesty of garage rock, the stoned groove of reggae, and the amphetamine energy of raw punk without regard for pre-existing formula. They dont hold stock in genres; they blow through them. Even so, their music has been likened to such important artists as Janes Addiction, Weezer, and Queens of the Stone Age. Sporks 6 members, Mike B (drums), Matt M. (drums), Dan (vocals/guitar), Jeff (vocals/guitar), John (bass/antics), and Paul (vocals/harmonica/electronics) are relentless in their craft, always pushing the envelope with their music and their live performances which often get as chaotic as a Stooges concert. Their latest CD brazenly showcases their musical range and is the best driving CD to come out of Florida in recent memory. The bluesy Start to Melt, the punk-ballad Undone, and the ultimate psychedelic strip club anthem Pole Position are highlights on an album that is an instant greatest hits collection. They are a stunning live act, and some shows have clocked in as long as 3 hours without regard for breaks or breathing, slowing down only for fan-favorite reggae jams, and of course, beer. Visit their website: www.sporksounds.com for tour dates, photos, MP3s, and merchandise. They can be reached via email at [email protected].
