About Me

A biography I wrote during my English lesson:"John Gleaves came to this world in 1987 as an unattractive corpulent infant. John has lived in Chatteris, or as he would call it “Chatterust” (because he thinks the town is decaying away), since he first landed on earth. He lived with two foreigners, who in their spare time, hug trees, gobble up most of the plants on planet earth and play David Bowie records non-stop – they turned out to be his genuine permanent parents. Throughout his childhood his main love was art; he saw anything and everything as some kind of art. He enjoyed music and his first ever instrument was the harmonica. Gradually throughout the years he taught himself how to play guitar, synthesizer and other usual or unusual instruments. He did have some kind of football career but his dreams of becoming the next Gary Pallister, “the greatest defender ever” as John has once described him, ended when he picked up a foot related injury which ruled him out of football for a good four months. Throughout these four months he started playing guitar and thought about starting a music career instead. In his spare time John likes to make music, write poetry, watching the clouds and do art. He hates it when people label him as being “boring”. John describes himself as being a “professional jackass” – he is somebody who tries and never gives up. With his music he goes by the name of the “Black Pigeon” and expresses his mood. If you know him very well, John does have an uncontrollable depression that he cannot stop – it’s a shame since he is such an easygoing person. However numerous of musicians around Chatteris have praised him for his “originality” since he doesn’t do the usual teenage rock music.Friends of John will know him for his crazy imagination. He goes under numerous of pen names: Mr Weirdo, Black Pigeon, The Demented Manikin, and Fake Plastic Boy. In his artwork he shows off his dreams and random thoughts that appear in his head, he has to put things down on anything so it doesn’t trouble him whilst he is sleeping, however he is known for being sleepless. John has described his artwork as his personal “Kid A”.John’s ambition in life is to have a smile on his face whether it will happen or not."
