The Imagineer Beckons You...

About Me

Hi! Welcome to my page! I'm Ryan Brandt: Writer, Actor, Director, Producer, Singer... a man of many talents to be sure, though it could be argued whether or not I'm good at any of them ;)
What else do you want to know about me? Hmm... well, I've written multiple short comics that have been published, published a one-shot called Leesway, a collection book called Tales From The Rabverse and another book called Marcus Midnight: Monster Hunter. I've got numerous other comic book properties in production.
I'm also a part of a local sketch comedy group called WTF, with my film buddies Josh Jones and Joel Brown. We have a myspace page as well, it's the first one listed in 'Friends'. I'm also currently writing a few screenplays in the hopes of potentially selling them, as slight as a hope that might be.
I'm also slowly writing a musical, a drama novel, and continuing to write lyrics in the hopes that one of these days I can get into a recording studio to try to get one of them recorded.
You can find my writing in these books from Ronin Studios...
Ronin Illustrated 3
Varied Scaries 2
Memories & Echoes: Remembering World War II
Leesway 1

With more books coming out soon. You can find most of these on sale at Comixpress.com, if not now, then very soon on their site.
I helped produce these student films...
Painting Shadows (Dir: Joel Brown)
Axiom of Choice (Dir: Josh Jones)

Starred in Creating Creation and I've had cameos in Axiom of Choice (as the strung out druggie), Four Sheets to the Wind (as a party-goer), and Sacred Bloods (Vampire Assassin).
I also assistant directed and was a script editor for Daniel Liptas student film, "Good Things Never Last".
The only other thing you need to know about me is that I'm impulsive, insane and willing to try any new creative outlet, but hey... it keeps life interesting ^_^
Thanks for checking out my page!

My Interests

Writing, singing, acting, dancing, bowling, playing video-games and watching movies.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with a good sense of humor. Also cool people who share interests in comics, comedy, movies or music. Especially the sick sonova gun who cut the blasted cheese!

And anyone who likes these videos attached below :-p

Movies:

Superman The Movie, Lawrence of Arabia, The Matrix (and it's sequels), Batman Begins, Blazing Saddles, Raiders of the Lost Arc, The Shawshank Redemption, The Majestic, Mortal Kombat, Star Wars Trilogy (yes, all of them), Zorro: The Gay Blade, Chicago, and much, much more...

Television:

Monty Python, Harvey Birdman, Trigun, Guyver, DBZ, Sledge Hammer, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Futurama, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Tenchi Muyo, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Loony Tunes and more!

Books:

Dune, The Good Earth, Gates of Fire, Oedipus Rex, The Illiad, The Odyssey, Beowulf and more that I'm forgetting.

Heroes:

First and foremost, my Parents, Roy and Deb Brandt. Then my sister Angela who always looked out for me. Then my Uncle Pat, who helped spur my love of writing. My Grandpa Gayle Brandt, a man whose heart was big and seemingly larger than life to me. God, who gave me a life to live. Among others are Abraham Lincoln, FDR, Ray Charles, Amelia Earhart, Superman (yes, he's fictional but dammit, his books made me want to be a better person), Frank Darabount, Alan Moore, Roger Stern, Tom DeFalco, Karl Kesel, Mozart, Beethoven, Jimi Hendrix, Steven Spielberg, Erik Clapton, Peter Gabriel, Bono, George Harrison, Terry Gilliam, Mother Teresa, Ghandi, MLK Jr., Christopher Reeve and many more.

Some of the people listed were far from perfect, but still I admire them despite their flaws and I try to learn from the past. But all of them, every single one, inspires me to try to achieve my dreams and be the best person I can be.

Why is it...

When I set a deadline for myself or I have one to hit... my writing mind gets wrapped up with other concepts and ideas rather than the scripts I really should be working on? I swear, it's driving me b...

It’s weird, but lately...

I’ve been thinking about my childhood in Michigan. Not really sure why, it might be because the weather out here in Okie-land has been pretty close to what Summer weather was like back north. Or...

I am now officially looking forward to Saturday.

Because we'll finally get a chance to film one of my favorite (but utterly wrong) written scripts of mine, "The World's Most Dangerous Game". I have it all figured out in my head and so long as the sk...

A new (and creepy) poem.

Wrote this yesterday while in the midst of my Marcus Midnight marathon scripting, so that probably accounts for the somewhat dark tone (especially in that story, it does deal a bit with one character ...

Boo-yah, baby! Marcus Midnight Versus the Nazi’s of the Undead is finished!

And it seems like with every new script I write, some line that is dreamed up in it becomes my new favorite.Like for instance, there's a line in here that goes...[Censored for surprise]: What do I lac...

And it’s the last song... What is number 29 on the Countdown?

It would be "Wouldn't It Be Nice" by the Beach Boys. Felt like an appropriate coda for the 29 Days of February Love Songs.Because yes, it would be nice to have that special someone. So remember tham a...

And the 28th song is...

Valerie by Steve Winwood. Steve is another artist that could've filled a couple of slots with his work, but this is probably my favorite of his love songs. That and I feel like a lot of guys feel like...

And my God, was it a beautiful movie. Moved me to tears and that's a rare thing. It's the kind of thing I wish I could write.Seriously, go out and rent it. Darren Aronofsky has crafted a masterpiece....

The 26th Song on the Countdown is...

What Is Life by George Harrison. Which ironically, is a song he wrote about Patti Boyd, his first wife that his friend Eric Clapton pined after and wrote Layla about. Just like the lyrics and the guit...
