"Aires" is characterized for their unique style among the exponents of the flamenco in this region of the Caribbean. Through their dances and songs, this group has set a goal to keep the variety of the flamenco music in their evolution, by means of a single fusion between their rhythm and harmony with the Cuban music. On the base of a scenic expressive design in which the three elements are mixed essentials of this art (the dance, the live music, and the song), this group includes in its repertoire national themes as well as international, besides composed pieces by some of its members.
In the consolidation of traditional and contemporary, Ulises Menocal, general and artistic director, achieves an effective communication with the public. His charisma along with the energy and talent of Hector Rodriguez accentuates the choreography of the flamenco music through the feminine dance. This is executed by the dancers with the grace and technical severity of a style that supports its rhythmic impetus in the corporal technique. Fundamentally in the movements of the wrists, arms, hands and hips, and in the passionate tap dancing, to finally achieve a show with a lot of passion in which the spectator remains trapped by the magic of the BulerÃas, the Sevillian, the tangos, and the rumbas.
"Aires" has performed in important stages in the capital of Cuba and other provinces. In 2000, they performed in Vera Cruz, Mexico during the Primer Festival "Augustine Lara". Aires was the first group of their type to participate in the International Festival of "Boleros de Oro and "Los Jovenes Cantandole Al Bolero" in the edition of 2004 at the America Theater.
