I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm an average girl with an above average IQ (yeah and mensa is beating down my door--bastards!) I am lucky to have a great husband who tolerates my idiosynchrasies, and a pretty delightful son, who most of the time makes us both laugh out loud. We have a bad ass black lab, leila that is best friends with bailey who is a giant schnauzer (have you ever seen a giant schnauzer? cause they look like a person in a dog outfit) I'm 38, but I still get asked for my ID on a regular basis, so I guess I haven't lived a very hard 38 years yet. I fancy myself something of a jill-of-all-trades, but master of none yet. I work for the world's largest manufacturer of packaged goods targeted to adults (you know who you are-and no its not porn you sicko...) I am too honest, too loyal, and too sincere but at the same time extremely sarcastic most of the time. I'm working on that. I promise myself to blog more this year and I will give a darn good try.

My Interests

My son, Most Music, Cooking, Family, cook-outs & entertaining, well, just about anything actually, except for quantum physics or listening to my mothers medical statistics. Also, field hockey history--not too interested! But other than that-try me! I'm really not too picky. What Classic Pin-Up Are You?
You're Marilyn Monroe!

I'd like to meet:

People who think cancer sucks, people with exceptionally sweet children, musicians, people who used to be cool, people who used to be geeks, people who know how to pimp your myspace, others who have travelled around the world, funny people, quirky folks, plantain lovers, gamecube freakazoids (only a few so I can get game tips), quasi-professional baseball players so I can bust your balls, old friends, semi-acheivers, disaffected college students, someone who understands engineers, someone who can flowchart how to understand an engineer, And anyone who likes my crazy and prolific sense of humor. You are 97% a Richmonder!

Ok. Your score should be 100%. Why not? I know why. You are a Richmonder, but you left. Maybe you went away for college and never came back, or maybe you went to St. Catharines or Collegiate and never had the benefit of a public school education. Private school kids: Refresh your memories with a dinner at The Tobacco Company and a cup of coffee in Shockoe slip; Public school kids: Grab a brew at Richbraw and take your Jeep for a root.

How Richmond Are You?

Music:

good music. music from anywhere, anytime, and any genre, as long as I like it. this means it is weird, funny, danceable, quirky, solid musically, or requires some brain function to process

Movies:

Quotable movies: Ground Hog Day,Office Space, Blazing Saddles, Napoleon Dynamite, 40 year old Virgin, Tommy boy, Austin powers (fat bastard), well lets just say I like comedy, and on the nights when my husband works late, I do divuldge in a romantic comedy from time to time. Which Napoleon Dynamite character are you?
You are Deb and you could drink whole milk if you wanted.

Television:

Earl, Office, Jeopardy, Antiques Roadshow, Yes--that silly sewing show on pbs with the nerdy lady from Minnesota. I still don't know what that is called...also, anything on food network, and the one where you cry after they redo the house for the poor folks with 35 handicapped kids and they only have one bathroom-or something like that with ty pennington. Beauty and the Geek! American Idol tryouts, Jeopardy (so I can excersize my mensa) ALL CSI, Law & Order, Cold Case--I could be a forensic scientist! or at least look like one!

Books:

cheap, easy, fast. I think that during my "reading" phase I read all of the books written at that time. I may grab a new one that I have heard is "great" but other than that it must be a reference material that i can use over and over again. I've purged my pack rat collection to cut down on the dust in the house. Does the magazine Real Simple count?

Heroes:

My husband (Lord, he puts up with a lot), My son for being the most amazing kid ever, The Incredible Hulk because when he said, "don't make me angry, you won't like me when I'm angry" he really meant it. The person who invented beer. Speed Racer, Two amazing people: My grandma and my aunt Pat (Cancer sucks!)

My Blog

I did it....the dreaded mammogram
