About Me

This Production company started as a band which later became what it is today. This band is a very unique band. It is known for it's ability to make none live music listeners appreciate the fact that the music being heard and played sounds like the record/cd or better and can be taken to another level. This Band originated in Memphis, Tn. on October 21, 1995 by three hungry musicians (Jorvan 'Jay B' Butler, Brandon 'Meatball' Ransburg and Tromell 'Suga Boy' Blassingame) students of Grambling State University in Grambling, La. who had so much love for music and their talents that on their fall break they were willing to start an organization/club named Project Union for the local musicians. Jay B's insight compelled the guys to gather in Memphis, Tn. at Jay's parents home for Thanksgiving at the dining table over some Krispy Kreme Donuts (which one of them couldn't resist)~Meatball Lol. The group was unbalanced because there was one keyboard player and two dynamic drummers. Brandon Ransburg(House) the solid skilled pocket drummer. This was our studio cat. You felt his power and passion when he got behind the drums. 'House' put that funk stank gridie gridie on the music. T-Mell was the pretty boy showcase drummer. 'His-Tiny-Azz' put the sexy gentle finess to the music. Might we add all the licks and chops. LolAt the beginning of 1996 is when everything blew up for the band. They all were already being hired for engagements individually but not as a band. There was one other inportant individual in the picture; Jeffery 'Tha Horn' Johnson. He had been known for his astonishing sounds of Saxophone. Jeff was pretty known around campus and the local area churches. Jeff would cal Jay and have him playing all over the campus with him because Jeff didn't like playing alone. One day Jeff was approached by some members of Alpha Phi Alpha to play at a function they were trying to make annual; Alpha Jazz Night. Jeff called Jay B and Jay B called Brandon. There was no way Jay was going to pass up this oppurtunity. This was what they were waiting on. They met and agreed on prices and they rocked it as a trio with Jeff as lead man. This was really where it started. The band didn't have a name at the time. Eventually Jeff graduated and new members came about. The newest edition came along Billy 'BJ' Kemp Jr. was approached by the members of ITP and later become a strong member and started leading out with dynamic vocal skills. Just what the group needed; another member who played drums not to mention that Jay B also played drums back in 1988-1992.By February of 1996 Jay B and Tromell were selected to join forces with about 24 other gentlemen who had a love for music and brotherhood. That following year Brandon join this same brotherhood. This clubs task was to reestablish on the grounds of Grambling State Univ. one of the most well-known music Fraternities ever; Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. This attempt was successful on May 25, 1996 of which these two individuals became Charter members of the Omicron Lambda Chapter of GSU.Later through the bands education endeavors they began to blaze the whole Northern Louisiana Area. Soon BJ and Brandon Graduated from college and the band picked up Anthony Nicholson on Bass Guitar, Anthony Dixon on Percussions/Drums and honorary member, Chris Hatter. This band was a Trailblazer and Trendsetter of GSU's live music mantility. After graduating from college they went on to bigger and greater things and worked with on stage and in studio with artists such as Art-N-Soul, Profyle, Mary Griffin, Mike Phillips, Edwin McCain of 'Hootie and The Blowfish', Jesse Powell, Angela Winbush, Glen Jones, George Clinton, Gerald Austin(Manhattans), Sunshine Anderson, Emmanuel 'Webster' Lewis, Jon B., Andre Pitre(Actor), Bushwick Bill, Carl Thomas, Dean James, Christopher Williams, Sherly Murdock, Mimms, Lil Flip, Scarface, Freeway, J. Holiday, Devin "The Dude", Erica Badu, The Mighty Sons Glory, Ryne(Gospel Ministry), Olanda Draper, Kim Burrell, Dobbie Powell, Jonathan Dunn, John P. Kee, Howard Hewett, Gordan Chambers, Rapheal Saadiq, John 'Jubu' Smith & Legally Blynd and etc.....They continue to work with one another presently.... A legacy in progress......................
