Dukakis People

The Dukakis People was formed in 1990 by original member Rocky Jones Ree and D.J. Todd Tabron. The musical shape of the band began with some experimental R&B /Rock stylings which were fused with Hip-hop to create a unique sound dubbed by the band as 'Alternative Soul'. In 1992 they released their debut album, a double disk titled 'Distorted'. The following year singer/keyboardist Morris Sipple was recruited and the subsequent sopho- more release 'Plight' was produced. This lineup imploded due to destructive forces within the ranks and each member embarked upon their own exploits. The most successful being Jones-Ree new outfit Liquid Sunshine or L.S.S. Who in recorded two albums, and regarded by most people as still being the same band. A brief reunion was had in 1999, and the band finished its third album 'Good People'. As the shifting lineup continued 'Used Animals' was released in 2002 and 'The Confirmation Of Things' in 2006. Despite the ever constant comparisions to Living Colour, the Peppers & Funkadelic, our style is truly our own. But we'll steal the groove from anybody!!! Can ya dig it!?!
