I build model kits of Star Trek and Star Wars vessels, collect and play with various action figures (He-man, TMNT, Spawn), study German, am trying to learn Spanish and how to play the piano, love to read almost exclusively non-fiction (mostly on evolutionary biology with my favorite author being Richard Dawkins), play video games (mostly RPGs on the order of Zelda and Final Fantasy), watch TV, movies, go to the mall and just hang out with friends.
My ideal type would be shorter than me (I'm 6'0"), thin to average build maybe a little overweight, blonde hair, blue eyes (think ideal Hitler youth candidate without the crazy Nazi philosophy), around my age +/- 3 years, funny, down-to-earth, enjoy some of the same things as me hobby/interest wise, be reasonably intelligent, able to chat about politics, religion, philosophy, current events, like to go out to movies, the mall, museums, but also be able to enjoy a quiet night at home cuddled on the couch watching horror movies. Of course, I am not this picky, that's just an ideal. I am very laid back and open to meeting all types of people, so if you don't meet these exact criteria please message me anyway cause I'm sure I won't meet every one of yours either, but part of the fun of dating is being surprised and learning new things.
I am very eclectic when it comes to music. I tend to like songs rather than bands. I can only think of a handful of bands the majority of whose songs I like, but I can think of hundreds of bands only a couple of whose songs I like. It's best just to ask me on this subject, but I will say that I tend to dislike country and rap with only a handful of exceptions.
Horror movies are my favorite genre, although I also like sci-fi, comedy, some drama and documentaries, and many action films. Again this is a subject about which it's just best to ask me.
I don't watch television. I am truly against TV in many ways. I think it rots your brain and can be dangerous. I hate sitcoms so don't even bring them up because a) I won't know what you're talking about and b) I will only have negative thoughts about them anyway.
I read almost exclusively non-fiction with a keen interest in the topic of evolutionary biology and physics. I know nothing about either topic, but that doesn't stop me from ranting about them both. My favorite authors are Richard Dawkins, Steven Hawkins and Jared Diamond. I also read about personal finance with some interest, although admitedly not with the same interest as I do other subjects.
I think living life is a challenge. This will probably seem corny, but I think people who live life with their eyes open, who embrase life, who see the world with all the beauty and horror in it and still choose to stay, they are heroic. It's much easier to give up than to fight on.
