Shayron Scott was born in Atlanta, Georgia at Grady Memorial Hospital on November 11, 1980. After living in the projects, known as the Bluff for five years of her life, she then moved to Boulevard, formally know as 4th Ward, which she still resides. She always felt that there was much more to accomplish in life, and that if you believed it; you could achieve it. Growing up, she enjoyed dancing, which she took up classes in hip-hop, ballet, and free style dance. Although she enjoyed dance, she still felt that part of her was missing. It was until the fifth grade that she decided to join the school choir. It was at that moment that she discovered her love for music and became inspired. She decided to take her love for music to the next level, which she volunteered to sing lead in a Christmas play. When she began to sing, everyone got quiet, people faces began to light up with smiles. And at that moment she discovered the part of her that was missing, her purpose on Earth to sing.
From that day forth, Shayron continued to sing. From elementary school to college, she has performed in many school plays. She has performed for wedding ceremonies, music festivals, and many local events. During the years 2001 through 2003, she was a member of the "Morris Brown College Show Choir," which she song and danced for each performance. In 2001, she was a finalist for the "Porsche Foxx Talent Expo." In June 2003, she then transfered to Clark Atlanta University, which she participated in various talent productions. In the year of 2006, she developed her first demo, titled, "Shay Scott." She not only wrote all of her songs but created her own CD cover, and produced two tracks on the demo as well. Instead of passing her CD out for free, she thought that she try her luck and sell them for five dollars, since there were only seven songs on the CD. And to her surprise, she sold them all. "It feels good when people say that they love your music, and that they are waiting to buy the next CD," which she shared with me with a big smile on her face. She continued by saying,"I appreciate the fact that not only did they buy my CD, being that I am an independent artist. But they gave me that chance to be heard. Rather it is a request for more of my music, or encouraging words that I will make it, means the world to me."
When I look at this young lady, I see a star. A star of beauty, talent, intelligence, and ambition. She has the power to overcome any obstacle that comes her way. I believe that she will make it because I can see the heart within.
