About Me
**About Esselle Blaize**
Sherrie LaTrice. Initials, S.L. That’s how the name Esselle should roll off of your tongue. A force all her own and on her own, Esselle Blaize is a Southern Georgia bombshell that will blow the she-game lid off of the music industry. This multi-talented young lady is often classified as a standalone artist and underdog by her fans. “I've learned that females have their work cut out for them in this game. Its like trying to score dope in a crowded church service!†She’s one that is definitely not to be referred to as “just another female rapperâ€. Her talents diminish her placement in that category.
Esselle Blaize’s independent release, “HONEYPOTMUSIC†is set for release Spring/Summer 2008. She is currently in production for this highly anticipated record. Esselle, 25, says listeners can expect to play this album straight through. “This record is going to be jam-packed with classic Esselle Blaize. Its a mixtape CD, so I'm going to let loose and get wild. There's no limit to what I'm going to say!â€
Esselle Blaize is also expected to grace a few select mixtapes soon. She is currently featured on DJ Friday and the Producerz’, “The Black Friday Mixtapeâ€, and has a few more mixtape appearances in the works.
Fresh off the press is "The Movement", a track that R&B singer, Kiyana HAD to collab with Esselle Blaize for. "She got at me about it, I said, 'Let's do it!' Its done." This record is a spin-off of DJ Khaled's "I'm so hood" and is all about GIRL POWER!
Esselle, in addition, is gearing up for the promotion of “HONEYPOTMUSICâ€. She plans to release a music video in April. “The music video is going to be hot! I don’t have a Hype Williams budget, but I do have an incredible mind, and I will make the most of less!†Esselle Blaize laughs. “As for my video series, its going to put you in the mindset of a reality show. It’ll be an experience for me because my fans have NEVER seen me like this! I cant give anything away, just stay tuned!â€
Esselle Blaize has been writing songs, poems, and other works since she could write. She held a constant spotlight singing in her home church, and eventually took singing into the R&B arena. By the age of 17, Esselle found a new niche in rap after bringing the house down during an impromptu stage performance over Black Rob’s “Whoa†in 1999 in North Carolina. This was the era when she got her first taste of hip hop as a rapper. "These people went bollistic when that beat dropped! I let loose on that stage and I knew where I was suppose to be. I will never, ever forget that."
Esselle Blaize signed with an indie label out of Sacramento, CA in 2004, writing and recording her debut album in 3 weeks. By early 2005, Esselle consulted her lawyer and dissolved her recording contract and shelved her album due to professional and creative differences. She has, since then, incorporated her own entertainment company, 75 Entertainment Group, and has been lining up projects and establishing relationships while working to create a strong buzz without help. “Love is not easy to get these days, but I'm covering all ground. People out there love music, and dont hate. I'm a one-woman show and I'm not waiting for a big budget to handle my business.â€
Esselle Blaize was voted the original “Ms.It†by her Myspace peers in a contest held by Myspace’s Lady Entertainer Group in the Fall of 2005. She won by a landslide and has gained a new following stemming from that title.
Esselle Blaize is an artist to watch out for in the future. She is determined to make her way into the hearts of millions, without a gimmick. “Being from Georgia, people expect me to bounce and snap. I love the music that's out now, but that's not me. My goal is to bring the focus on talent back....and look pretty while doing it!â€
Having passed on three recording contracts already, Esselle Blaize is awaiting the opportunity she’s right for. “And I'm not getting naked! Its way too much T & A out here for me to follow suit. I'm going to break through MY WAY and hey, if I dont get what I want, I'm taking it.â€
“HONEYPOTMUSICâ€, the album, coming Spring/Summer 2008! Get ready for it!
