Jazzykathylee - Him'nJaz

About Me

Musical Background: Jaz received her first lessons in music from the age of two, singing childrens songs with her step-father, Maurice Lee, a missionary musician, who married her mother, Gabriela Kulbatzki. She and her younger sister, Gloria, would go busking together with their Dad who also played the guitar. Sometimes they would organize shows for old folks homes or restaurants, at Christmas. It was thru music that the message of Jesus Love was brought to their audiences and sponsors developed who supported their Missionary Projects. Their Singing Career as a Family ended when their parents divorced. Jazs passion for singing however did not end there. In 1998, Jaz began writing lyrics for Marco K., who was a lead guitarist, ACDC stlye and is a gifted musical composer. Together they founded a five man rock band called TNH (The New Horizon) and composed more than 17 original Rock songs and ballads, their audience remained local pubs and Festivals for three years. In 2001 Jazs life took a new bend and challenge; that of becoming a full-time missionary in a mission station in Harare called Family Missions, which brought her to Zimbabwe Africa. Through her ministry, in 2002 she met the Golf-player and Trainer Richard Chitakatira, who supported and participated in the mission work in Harare and encouraged her to write Rap Lyrics for his younger brother Wesley Chitakatira, who was a rap artist. The three became very close friends and recorded the single: Walk in His light just before Jaz returned to Germany. What seemed like a good beginning ended shortly thereafter; the Family Mission Station in Harare was forced to close down because of political and economical difficulties in the country. Wesley pursued his Golf education in Australia. Despite the setback and the seeming loss of a dream, Jazs personal Love for Jesus and His word, continued to provide her with inspiration and a creative, consistent flow of lyrics and Songs.
