The PlotCementville is a comedic, but often volatile story set in the world of small-time pro wrestling where men and women struggle to survive on the fringe between fame and oblivion and the real drama is happening in the locker room. Set in a little Tennessee rusttown, Cementville follows young local girl, Nola, who dreams of being the next big thing in wrestling. When the Golden Globe Wrestling Alliance comes to town, she may just get her chance, whether she's ready or not.In the chaotic hours before and during the night of matches, members of the G.G.W.A. have to deal with their blow-hard managers, a mysteriously injured superstar, the diva replacements, substance abuse, a crazed autograph hound, and a crowd ready to riot. The PlayCementville was written for the stage by Jane Martin, a Pulitzer-prize nominated playwright and native of Kentucky. Many of her plays and monologues have received critical acclaim as cutting-edge modern drama from a woman's perspective filled with diverse and unique characters.Unlike other wrestling films, Cementville doesn't have a big Rocky ending. It's about the day-to-day lives of the working professional wrestler, and by doing so it pushes the kafabe (kay-fabe) envelope. The story openly acknowledges the line between reality versus fantasy that exists in sports entertainment. Yet, it is very respectful of the men and women who risk life and limb, often nightly, to work for their fans for little or no pay.The original production premiered at the Humana Festival in Louisville in 1991, under direction of former Actor's Theatre of Louisville Executive Director Jon Jory, and has since been produced across the country as a wonderful analogy for the struggle for fame and the self-destructive lifestyle that comes with it. Unlike actors or musicians, these people are getting literally beat-up in pursuit of their goals, not just emotionally and psychologically. The FilmCementville was optioned by Impossibility Productions' Producer/Screenwriter John C. Young to adapt into a feature film. John's adaptation has the approval of Jane Martin's estate. One of the first committments to the project is Beyond the Box Productions' Director of Photography Rodney King. Mr. King has 20+ years experience behind the camera and in production.Vin Morreale, Jr. of VSM Entertainment has been approached to come aboard as Line Producer. VSM recently sold their first independent feature Breaking and Entering, which Vin wrote, produced and directed.Dan Madigan , screenwriter for the horror hit See No Evil and a former headwriter for the W.W.E. Smackdown and Raw shows, is directing!Dan has a history in the wrestling business and has recently authored the book, Mondo Lucha A-Go-Go about the history and culture of Mexican masked wrestling. Dan is eager to see Cementville brought to the screen, and wants to pay homage to the great men and women who give so much to their fans.Ellie Weingardt (A League of Their Own), who received raves in a Chicago production of the play, would be reproducing her role of Mother Crocker. Ellie has appeared in numerous films, stage productions and is a professional celebrity impersonator and audio performer for radio and books on tape.Deven Aleece , an accredited actress, certified stuntwoman and independent professional wrestler (Fire), has committed to the lead role of Dani. The producers are in negotiation with agents for Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Blade 2) to play lead Big Man Vag (the booker), and Joanie Laurer , former W.W.E. Champion Chyna to play Tiger, a road weary wrestler on her last legs. The script is also being looked at by the agents for Kathleen Turner for the role of Netty, a woman who sees herself as the lockerroom den mother. And the producers have spoken to Mr. Louis Gossett, jr. , one of America's most honored actor's, about his possible attachment. Mr. Gossett is currently reviewing a copy of the script.Possible cameos by David Arquette and David Carradine (Kill Bill, Vol. 2) is also in the works.Other working wrestlers or actors with wrestling experience have committed themselves to the project or shown a geniune interest in being involved. Southern Kentucky wrestler John Alderdice is onboard as Vernon and April Pennington (former TNA/NWA diva) has expressed interest in playing unstable diva Dolly Crocker. The Investment OpportunityUnlike the re-manufactured films the Hollywood studio machine churns out year after year and pile up on the video aisle at Walmart, Cementville is an independent project with a modest budget (only $2.9 million), a universal theme, mainstream topics, known cast members, a script by an award-winning and award-nominated author, and the real potential for critical and financial success.Impossibility Productions is in contact with domestic distribution companies about getting the film to screen and the project is being reviewed by numerous foreign interests for overseas distribution.International Promotions, a product placement and promotions firm, has reviewed the script and is looking at their clients for good to sponsor Cementville. With more and more movie-goers deciding to wait until a mainstream film comes to DVD or cable, many withhold their box office dollars for something special... unique. Also, movies that are purchased for home-viewing are often chosen because they can be watched over and over again. Cementville's humor, memorable characters and satisfying story sets it apart and invites reviewings. For private investors, the opportunity is here to become involved in a project at the ground-level and to reap the benefits of it's future success. Private investors would receive their initial investment before the producers take any profits. Any net profits beyond would be split 50/50 between investors and the producers.Returns on investment would be at all levels: theatrical release, foreign distribution, home video, cable and network television. Meaning that beyond the initial sales, investors would still reap long-term returns whenever the film is sold.It is not viable for investments to arranged via this site, but if you'd like to become apart of this project, you can E-mail us for more information. ..Impossibility Productions, LLC
