I am here for Friends

About Me

Where am I going? I don't quite know, Down to the stream where the king-cups grow- Up on the hill where the pine trees blow- Anywhere, anywhere. I don't know.Where am I going? The clouds sail by, Little ones, baby ones, over the sky. Where am I going? The shadows pass, Little ones, baby ones, over the grass. If you were a cloud, and sailed up there, You'd sail on water as blue as air, And you'd see me here in the fields and say: "Doesn't the sky look green today?"Where am I going? The high rooks call: "It's awful fun to be born at all." Where am i going? The ring-doves coo: "We do have beautiful things to do."If you were a bird, and lived on high, You'd lean in the wind when the wind came by, You'd say to the wind when it took you away: "That's where I wanted to go today!"Where am I going? I don't quite know. What does it matter where people go? Down to the wood where the blue-bells grow- Anywhere, anywhere. I don't know.by A.A.Milne. Such a beautiful poem, and is particulary nice if anyone is still a bit lost after finishing uni (although i think we'll always be a bit lost, but thats the best bit!)When I first got to the hostel, I was given a card, and thought it particulary relevant for moving from one stage of life to another... I picked a Valkyrie (raven)... "The bird goddess is one of the most ancient goddessess, both a live-giving creator and goddess of death and re-generation. For ancient people death was part of a cyclical process leading again to re-birth; black was a positive color, a symbol of fertility and abundance. The valkyrie represents that part of us that is unafraid of the dark places; she can lead us into and through them. She reminds us that seeds germinate in the darkness, that sometimes we need darkness in order to grow."If your visiting this, you probably know a bit about me... I'm originally from Coventry, and have been living in the beautiful town of falmouth in cornwall for the last 4years studying a degree in Contemporary Crafts. It was an awesome time, and I miss you guys loads!I've just finished the summer season at a hostel on the river dart (see photos). It was such a beautiful place, met some fantastic people, and had great fun exploring, doing adventure activities, camping, dancing and giggling! I miss the magic of maypool and my girls OOOOOOEEEE!!Anyway, back in Coventry temporarily (which is a contrast to say the least)! But off to York this weekend with my mum, then spain (nr Barcelona) to visit Paul on Wed for weekish, then the following week its my mums 50th, so we're staying in a lighthouse on the mull of kintyre penninsula! so lots of exploring to look forward to!!Then i'll be in Cov all of november to catch up with people, driving test and sell some artwork hopefully!Then.. drum roll please... I'm moving to val d'isere in the french alps at the end of November!!!! Got a job as a kids ski rep, offical title 'Snow Ranger' 3,2,1... power up!! (aka power ranger). My placement is till the end of April, but if i get on well, I can then do summer seasons as well, where they'l be adventure activities! Yipeeee!!! Just need to learn how to speak french now! oops!
