I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4About Defixio
One thing is certainly clear about Defixio, it's a real ghost band, totally apart from everything and everybody, hidden in the shades of time!Telling you all about the band would be a real delirium, mainly considering what has given rise to the ideology and philosophy of Defixio and a circle of friends, all of them characterized by an extreme attitude, really out of the ordinary. So I’ll just report the most important dates and the main events:- Late 1993: The band moved its first steps towards hell with the following line up: Mane (guitar + vox + synth) and Nemus, now Morgan the Bard (bass + synth). Defixio never had a drummer and it has really influenced the life of the band. This line up wrote a handful of songs as “Wood of the eternal curseâ€, “26 Febbraio †and some others (though never recorded). We played fast and brutal black metal Enriched by parts of acoustic guitars and medieval strains. Both Morgan and I would like to recover those tracks and immortalize them…It seems to be not so easy but it would be great. Morgan decided afterwards to devote his art exclusively to medieval music and left, in total friendship, Defixio. In 1996 I recorded a 5-track MCD called “Heathendom†recorded at Timeless Studios, actually the cellar of my house. Heathendom sounds really violent, with some atmospheric, hypnotic and depressive parts. The recording was dirty and raw. I made just 6 CD-copies and about 30 MC split Defixio/Aldebaran, never published, and we sent no copies neither to labels nor to magazines, maybe because we didn’t feel like or because we were just not interested in, but mostly because we wanted to keep at a safe distance from the musical pollution of those times.- 1997: Timeless studio was flooded and destroyed…water was 1 mt high! I tried to reorganize myself but this disaster together with other events has seriously compromised the work of the band. FUCK!- 1998-1999: I recorded a song called “Defixionisâ€, the first step towards the evolution of Defixio. I left synths and melodic parts in order to concentrate only on brutal and blasphemous Black Metal. I continued writing songs; from 1998 until 2001 I composed 4 songs for the split CD with Hate Profile entitled “Your blood, my Hateâ€. Afterwards I started working on an hypothetic full-length called “Black+Death+Cultâ€, 7 songs of incendiary black metal .- 2000-2001: I entered as bass-player in the cult band of Baratro in 2000. At that time many local grind-gore bands grew up. Considering my love for grind/gore metal, some co-operations soon became unavoidable. Total support to all sick gore bands of the world, or better, of the entire universe, as Muculords come from the depths of outer space! Defixio was still alive but left a bit aside because of all the others many activities and the recording of “Black+Death+Cult†slowed down. I hope to have soon time to record all these old songs.- Dec. 2005: After the release “Blood beyond the sandâ€, a 3-way split CD with Entity and Undead (2002), Baratro put an end to their activity and gave their last gore-bye in the ultimate ritual of violence consumed at Boulevard (Misano, 17Th Dec. 2005)- 2006: As Entity’s bass-player left the band, I began to play with them. At present we’re working on new brutal songs. Months ago Morgan the Bard ranged up telling me that he had created a blog on myspace…ah ah…that was the time to march out! I accepted ‘cause I want to leave a mark of Defixio, somewhere…somehow! For sure not for promotional or commercial intents, it has never been my aim, it is not at present and it will never be! LIVING FOR THE OLD BLACK METAL ATTITUDE, THE STENCH AND MISANTROPHY OF PRIME EVIL!Forever sinner +Mane+ .
