[email protected] up in 1994, by two Dutchmen and 3 Englishmen, the Stones Café represents the coming together of the best of both worlds. With a strong emphasis on the international appeal of good music and beer, served by friendly staff in cosy surroundings, you will feel at home no matter where you are from. Over the last 10 years we have gone from being a lively bar in the red-light area to a small institution and meeting place, with many making the Stones Café their home base for the weekend. Many of the local residents and workers from surrounding bars and clubs have also made Stones Cafe a home from home, so you get a great mix of both the visiting and local culture.
We are the orginal all dancing, sports, smoking, english, dutch bar, that many have tryed to copy over the years in the warmoesstraart... but we are the orginal and quite proud of it.We are mixture of a €˜proper€™ English pub meets Dutch Café and we do not pretend to be anything else. We allow the consumption of cannabis in our bar and you can also visit our very own COFFEE SHOP which is 30 seconds walk from the bar.We show all the major sporting events on flat screens and a big projector, for which there is always a great atmosphere, especially any Holland vs. England games - no matter what the sport! Of course, we also have all the other features you would expect and require - cooked breakfasts, a Dutch pool table, gorgeous bar staff and also our legendary terrace which is at the centre of all the action in the red-light district. This is the perfect place, especially in the summer, to relax, sit back and watch people go about their business in this fascinating city which is like no other...At night the Stones really comes alive. We close the doors, turn the lights down a little, turn up the music, push the pool table to one side and put the bar into top party mode until late. As we are the only Café in the red-light open till 3am, we are ideal for everyone who likes to party late into the night! Our well trained bar staff know how to get a party going, playing all the great music from the past, present and future. We have a wide spectrum of great music, from rock to pop, 70s/80s/90s music, the latest electro minimal house, country & western, rap, hip hop€€you name it we play it.
