Ebony Booker is a talented writer, performer, and CEO of a successful entertainment marketing company called Complexions Entertainment. Her uplifting message juxtaposed with fiery lyricism makes keeps her in demand in the community at large. Ebony is a five year member of the poetic powerhouse, Black on Black Rhyme (www.blackonblackrhyme.com). She featured at the New Orleans House of Blues during the 2004 Essence Festival, the famous Nuyorican in New York, the District in Miami, Mount Zion in Tallahassee, The Cotton Club in Tampa, the World AIDS Day Conference in Atlanta, and at many other venues across the nation. Ebony is an alumni of Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL where she majored in Public Relations. She currently has an album out entitled, Old Soul.
Although poetry shares the entitlement to her passion, Ms. Booker extends her talents beyond the stage to music production and a host of other talents. She has referenced music for country singer Carrie Underwood and R&B diva, Mya. She manages clothing designer/producer/ rapper E. Mackey. Ebony also does freelance magazine writing. In the May 2007 issue of Grip Magazine, Ebony wrote the feature article on turntable icon, DJ Drama. She also did the Chyna Whyte article for the debut issue of Dutch Magazine. Ebony was female co-host to Thrill Da Playa of the 69 Boyz for over a year on Clear Channel 100.7 the Beat’s radio show, Ghetto Fabulous Live, which was number one in the region during its run. She has promoted a slew of events and concerts including Summer Jam ’06 in Tallahassee, Florida, featuring T-Pain, Dj Unk, Sojo, and many other artists.
With a multitude of talents, it’s easy to see why Ebony Booker is making so much noise. It’s not often that you will find an artist willing to volunteer her poetry at a nursing home and yet broker a million dollar deal in the same day. Write a song with industry artists and take the time to work with an unknown artist in the same studio session. This humility and hunger to make an impact on the world around her will make Ebony Booker a name to remember.
