About Me

... and That Songweavers Project.

In December of 2005 I had this really great idea: What if people from all over the world regardless of their musical experience and/or background, could get together in cyberspace and create music together. I pitched the idea to a few friends of mine, most of whom did not quite understand it. They did however agree to become my partners because they were swayed by the strength of my conviction. I am just as sure now as I was then, that this idea will totally revolutionize the way music is created, marketed, distributed and just about any other related aspect. The idea is quite simple, Songweavers will control all aspects of the process as well as be the work's publisher and because of that, it will be able to allow everyone and anyone to rearrange any song in whichever way they see fit. The execution of this simple idea breaks down into a variety of steps but anyone who can pimp their myspace page, should have no problem with them at all. These steps are not really that complicated; Here is a simplified breakdown:
1. become a member - MEMBERSHIP IS FREE - Just Click Here: Songweavers and follow the instructions.
2. You may upload a song, and/or lyrics/text/poem by going to the Upload page and following the instructions.
3. You may also upload pictures of yourself and/or your band, gig posters and info and links to your other sites. You can also write a little bio of your band, comment on your music etc.
4. Browse the site and download a song you might like to work on, or some lyrics that you would like to write a melody for. For the song, you only need to download that tracks you like and ignore all the others.
5. Replace and/or modify any tracks you want and/or add new ones.
6. upload your new version to the site. For any unresolved issues/questions send me an e-mail to [email protected] (it's my address and for a little while I will be able to answer your questions. For the future, I hope there will be so much traffic that I will need to ask for some help.
And now, for that PEACE question; A gentleman by the name of Shimon Peres heard about us and was very excited about the idea that this project could contribute to world peace by bringing together people of varied and totally differing backgrounds. He then wrote the lyrics for a song called "Ray of Hope" and had them posted to our site. I wrote a melody, recorded the song and uploaded it to our website. Being that Mr. Shimon Peres is a Nobel Peace prize laureate and the Israeli Deputy prime-minister, it made quite an impression on myself and my partners. One of them decide to promote the peace bringing aspects of our project and there is no objection, that surely is a wonderful thing. I just wanted to point out to one and all that PEACE may be a wonderful thing, but that primarily, the building blocks and the mortar that will hold it together, consists of our music, our words and our joining together in a universal melting pot of music - and THAT music can have as its subject anything any of you cares to sing about. So let's all strive for UNITY THROUGH MUSIC and remember that music is the best medicine (It is for me.)

Sing on Brothers & Sisters, Sing on!

Artist Addictions

I have this theory - and it goes like this: Artists are blessed (or perhaps cursed) with a lot more empathy than your average person; it is one reason that they become artists in the first place. It ...
