Rick Aaron has logged over 15 years in the music industry, working at companies such as Capitol Records, where he was National Director of Street Promotions; indie company Bellmark Records, where he served as National Mixshow Director; compilation king Thump Records/Universal, as VP of A&R; and A&R consultant for radio powerhouse Radio One. Now he is using his vast knowledge and experience to head up the team at Southern California based Aaron Entertainment. AE covers an array of entertainment and artist-related services including, talent booking, event promotion, marketing and label consulting. It’s the company’s goal to assist both label and artist in further broadening its desired fan base.
Most recently the company has produced numerous projects nationally but has also joined the international arena. “One of our most famous projects is Spring Break in Rosarito Beach, Mexico” says Rick Aaron. “We just had our fourth spring break. It’s amazing to look at an area that had no shows three years ago and see that the same area is hosting a half-dozen in one weekend. We were the first to bring Spring Break concert events to Rosarito Beach and we are proud to say we have been instrumental in the immense growth of the event.”
In addition to the Spring Break, Aaron and his team continue to coordinate and promote various individual concerts throughout the United States and Mexico, bringing in artists such as DJ Quik, Pit Bull, Xzibit, Lil Flip, The Game, Ying Yang Twins, Lil Jon, E-40, G-Unit, Busta Rhymes, Jon B, Donnell Jones, Bobby Valentino, and a host of others— to various venues.
In just this past year alone, Aaron Entertainment has featured concerts with The Game, Lil Jon and the BME Click,E-40 and many more. “We strive for our shows to be an experience “says Aaron, “we offer opportunities for meet and greets, contests, and various fun activities. The future will be incredible!
“We are also working with some amazing new talent for the hip-hop, R&B and Latin markets, as well as some amazing songwriters whom you should hear from soon. But I guess I’d have to say the main highlight has been the clients who have told me they love working with us; that they feel secure and comfortable. That’s when you know you’re doing things right.”
With Aaron’s extensive background working at both major and independent labels in promotions, and A&R— and now conquering the world of artist development, event coordination, and talent booking, he is well on his way to sustaining his status as an influential force in the music industry.
