Forming in 2002, Censa Faye were a lynchpin of the Manchester scene- playing with the very best in the city as well as bigger acts such as Sikth, Pitchshifter, Lightyear, Miocene, Jesse James and Vendetta Red. Their unique blend of melodic, soaring vocals and heavy riffs made them popular amongst the alternative crowd and lead to many great live shows.
The band changed lineup in 2005, as founding members Paul Ashwin (now of The Mourning Will Follow), Tom Day and Chris Brooks left to form Amends To The Dead. Faye embraced the change by including new members Jamie Lyons (formerly of Wicked Whilst Sleeping), Jay Bardsley (formerly of The Hollow Earth Theory) and newcomer Ross Harper. The band continued with this lineup for another year, exploring a more spacious, epic sound to their more full-on metal predecessors and split in July 2006.
From starting out as grunge,to full-on metal and ending as a prog metal, Censa Faye enjoyed every second of playing for the people of Manchester and for every crowd on their travels.
