Reggae Campfire started as Campfire in 1975, a community food festival held every News Years Eve. A true community driven experience, the calendar event has grown by leaps and bounds over the last two decades. A tremendous success from its inception, Reggae Campfire has offered patrons the top tastes of Jamaica coming from Faiths Pen, Hellshire, Countryside Cuisine and ital Connoisseurs alike.
Reggae camp Fire has become one of the most highly anticipated reggae events of the calendar year. Every New Year's Eve Jamaica celebrates in Ewarton St. Catherine with the best reggae performers taking the stage and showcasing their talents for thousands to enjoy.
Three Years ago, the producers of Campfire decided to enhance the event with the addition of a Stage Show, Now dubbed Reggae Campfire. The addition of the Stage Show component, proved to be exactly what the event needed as in the first of the three years at its original venue (The Polly Grounds in Ewarton), over six thousand (6,000) paid patrons was in attendance. In the second year with the stage show component added, and a move to our current venue the Windalco Sports Complex, we had over twelve thousand (12,000) paid patrons in attendance. This year we are anticipating that as many as 20,000 patrons will be in attendance.
The festival has in the past attracted a host of top quality acts such as Beres Hammond, Sizzla, Capleton, Bounty Killer and Richie Stephens just to name a few. We are confident that this year will be no different as we are in negotiation with some top acts as specified in our attached proposal.
Our vision for Reggae Campfire is that within the next three years the event will be the most anticipated Reggae and food festival, along with festivals such as Reggae Sunsplash and Reggae Sumfest. We envisage our event a one stop for Nationals and visitors alike where you can enjoy the best of our culture, our food, our craft and of course one of the best things that we have given to the world Reggae Music.
In the final analysis, Reggae icons such as Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff have put Jamaica and Reggae Music on the map and Reggae Campfire promises to keep Jamaica on the map. We intend to be a major international Reggae Music and Food Festival.
Reggae Camp Fire 2k6 promises to be even bigger this year with the event being held at the Windalco Sports Complex in Ewarton, St Catherine. Come enjoy this musical extravaganza with your family this year and feel the energy of Reggae Camp Fire 2K6.
