Welcome to my space - thanks for dropping by.
MWAH!
I live in a pretty little oxfordshire village with my mad dogs, and surrounded on all sides by some very special friends. ...and yes, the city lights beckon occasionally, but the peace and beauty of the countryside are an inspiration daily.
I have written a fair bit in the past, books, short stories, even tried a film script but nothing published. My creative side just won't lie down though, always have a outlet for it somewhere in my life. My latest passion is writing songs on Garageband. My vocals are a bit dodgy, and I am still very much in the learning process, but my mentor has taught me so much i believe I am getting there. Check out my profile song and judge for yourself.
There are three areas I feel very passionately about, domestic violence (see blog), the devastating effects of the menopause on some women.(see blog) and keeping our bodies young, fit and healthy through herbalism, nutrition and other alternative remedies.
I've given up on doctors, but not before they gave up on me!!!!
I have been studying herbalism and nutrition with a view to women's health issues but in the process have gleaned so much information relating to cancer, hormone inbalances/problems, weight loss, menopause, energy, libido, delaying the ageing process, stamina and physical excellence (i know about it - don't do it, just pole-dancing and dog walking for me I'm afraid - the only pounds I ever lose at the gym are the ones I pay to join!) and the list goes on. I'm not a qualified herbalist, but I study non-stop and listen to anyone and everyone with a story. So I'm pretty knowledgable and am happy to pass on proven information, or links to research supporting my findings.
Just as an interesting aside: In my foray into the fascinating world of herbalism I became absurdly interested in aphrodisiacs. I have now researched them extensively, and imported them from all over the world. Experimenting to try to find the perfect formulas for men and women. I have tried them out on my friends and on myself, and some of them are very very effective, without the side effects of the likes of viagra. So many 'women of a certain age' think that they have lost that aspect of their life and it will never come back. WRONG!!! Just a little nudge with a well researched herbal mixture can turn you back into the goddess you were in your prime. Believe me!
My research has also led me to a selection of anti-ageing and even "age-reversal" herbs, supplements and trace elements. Naturally I cannot claim they work, but if you want the info I'll happily pass it on.

INTERESTS: Herbalism, walking my fab dogs in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, writing books that I never finish, cooking both for health and nutrition, but also for dinner parties and large catering projects from time to time, aphrodisiacs and all the enjoyment they bring.

my new pole-dancing pole, which my friends and I are using to keep fit (exercise in 6 inch heels - excellent!), lazy days and crazy nights and generally enjoying my new lease of life.

I'd like to meet:

I'm enjoying meeting people with a different take on life, people with dreams and aspirations, and sharing experiences and laughter ....and sometimes tears.

I am also here to support women who are going through some of the things I have been through (domestic violence and also a terrifyingly symptomatic menopause, which nearly drove me to the brink), in the hope that I can share my solutions and that lives can be saved or improved. We all need someone to talk to, but few understand what we are really going through, or even believe us.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. ...Explore..... Dream........... (Mark Twain)
