About Me

I am married. Married to motown. My fetal-self emerged with an abundance of bones. Too many, really. I will never fall apart, but I... can't...move... My mother was a fiery Irish immigrant. My father, the ghost of a hyena. I was born in a thundercloud. I exist under the false pretense that I'm an impeccably-groomed pirate, who likes to "kick it" up on my big-ass dinosaur, while feasting on [your] brains. It's nice and relaxing after a rough day in the office. I mean pirate ship.

My Interests

Popping 'thought-bubbles', nibbling on racecars, high-fivin' Jesus... I'm also a big fan of seahorse cuisine and hearty longitude. And I like to "Mountain Do" that shit in extreme situations.

I'd like to meet:

Blackbeard seems appropriate. Maritime aside, Chuck Palahniuk (author of Fight Club, etc) would be a jaw-dropping honor. As would David Cross (Mr. Show, Arrested Development, etc), Robert Pollard and Tobin Sprout (of Guided by Voices, among others), Mike Rowe (of 'Dirty Jobs'), David Sedaris, Kurt Vonnegut, Jack Nicholson, Edward Norton, Edward Scissorhands, the Notorious MSG, Stan Lee (Marvel comics)... Along with a slew of musicians and artists who, if I'm not mistaken, are all still dead. Mitch Hedberg (RIP), Mr. Wizard, Al Capone (Rest in Pain), and the latter isn't one of the skeletons I was refering to. Also, I'd love to meet Carrot-Top(tm), so I could kick his ass.

Music:

Guided by Voices, Bob Pollard and his side projects, Tobin Sprout, Pavement, the National, Folk Implosion, Chuck Berry, Steely Dan, Pinback, the Glands, the Pixies, Frank Black solo, the Shins, Beatles, the Kinks, the Who, the Rosebuds, the Comas, the Notorious MSG, ELVIS COSTELLO, Blondie, the Dears, Television, Talking Heads, Bowie, Neil Young, Gary Numan/Tubeway Army, Wilco, Louis Armstrong, Built to Spill, Oingo Boingo, Cat Stevens, Cat Power, T. Rex, the T's, Blue Oyster Cult, Beach Boys, the first two Weezer albums, Archers of Loaf, Otis Redding, Blood Sweat and Tears, the Eels, Uncomfortable, Colossus, Flaming Lips, any old soul or rhythm & blues or motown. But I'm not real big into the whole "music thing".

Movies:

Willy Wonka (original), Edward Scissorhands, Wizard of Oz, Fight Club, Magnolia, High Fidelity, the Warriors, X-Men(all three, I'm die-hard), Boondock Saints, Scarface, Goodfellas, Amelie, Ravenous, the Butcher Boy, Godfather (one and two), Lord of the Rings trilogy, the first three Star Wars (meaning the first three that came out in the 70s), most Quentin Tarantino flicks, Labrynth, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, along with most Kubrick movies, the Botanist. I'll just stop now.

Television:

Mr. Show with Bob and David (HBO), Upright Citizens Brigade, Kids in the Hall, the Simpsons, COPS (sadly enough), anything on either the History Channel, TLC, Discovery, or Food network (I'm a sucker). ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT (hands down, my favorite, although tragically short-lived), "Dirty Jobs" w/ Mike Rowe. Aqua Teen, Little House on the Prairie...

Books:

Offhandedly, all Chuck Palahniuk. All David Sedaris. All Kurt Vonnegut. Douglas Adams... I'm assuming many other talented writers could fit snugly in the list, but they refused to attend my seminars.

Heroes:

Jared from the Subway commercials, Sloth from the GOONIES, Gizmo from GREMLINS, and Mark Jacobsen of TOYOTA OF DURHAM! Further down the totem pole: Baby Jesus (made famous by that Mel Gibson flick, and that long-winded book they based on it... "Bible Wars", or something akin..?) Lion-O, Cheetara, Optimus Prime, and Mr. Rogers
