Avatar is a DJ / Producer & Songwriter
currently residing in Raleigh NC.
Inspired by the DIY (Do It Yourself) ethic
of the underground Punk scene, he has been singing in bands since high school, which had him performing through house shows,
skate parks, & festivals across
NC and the Southeast.
Halfway through design school he packed a bag and moved to NYC with plans for art school and finding a new band to sing with. Here he found the same DIY ethic going strong in the underground Hip Hop & Electronic music scenes.
Catching up with the likes of DJ Spooky & Talvin Singh inspired him to start
Producing & DJing.
Coming back to Raleigh NC,
he started the Akasha Project.
Designed to be an innovative musical collaboration, Akasha brings together Avatar's diverse musical tastes & ideas with the sounds of various musicians & producers. This is what keeps Akasha's sound fresh, dynamic, and constantly evolving.
the Akasha Project released it's intrumental debut 'On the Horizon'. Riding through Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Breakbeat, & DnB, each track evolves into a unique sound of it's own which leaves you wanting more.
Avatar started DJing to share his passion for crafting musical journeys & his latest musical discoveries from around the world.
Currently Avatar is back in the studio
recording his latest remixes & mixes as well as playing out through various clubs & events.
Rounding off this solid foundation is Avatar's business project - Resonant Productions,
which is designed to be a network of
collaborators and freelancers working
in the music and media arts.
From Inspiration to Creation, through Creative Consultation & Project Managment, Resonant Productions sees Business, Music, & Event ideas to fruition.
