Soon after meeting each other during the recording sessions for Das Erste Vom Besten (2004 - 2005), Lenny & Germar started to work on what was supposed to become Lenny’s debut solo album; the idea was to create a synthesis of rap vocals & live instruments. After finishing a couple of demos (with the help of numerous friends that doubled as guest musicians), Little District was born (Lenny on Vox; Germar on guitar & Vox; Michael from Groovage on the Drums & Andi from John Doe on bass). This lineup however only lasted half a year. By the beginning of 2006, Obstla (Pissed Monks) returned to Vienna from a stint in London to take over the role of drums and brought along Phil on the bass guitar. Seeing that the only original member left where Lenny & Germar it seemed only fitting to change the bands name since it was a whole new band all together; the iNSURGENTS.In mid October 2006, the iNSURGENTS added horns & a second guitar to the mix, with the addition of Johnny (Trombone, Guitar) & Norbert (Trumpet) to the band.Nothing lasts forever in this ever changing world and the iNSURGENTS are no exception to the rule. Bands are like relationships and some relationships just werent ment to last; Johnny left the band in May (2007) followed by Obstla in August (2007), leaving a detrimental gap in our rythm section. With our new CD in production and a Scotland tour around the corner, parting with Obstla was a hard blow (to put it mildly). We where faced with the seamingly impossible task of finding a new drummer who could learn to play our set in a month! But the gods where in our favor, and the second drummer we tried out blew the band away... to cut a long story short, the band unanimously voted Thomas Aichinger to jump in on the drums for our Scotland tour.As of 2008, the lineup has once again seen some massive changes with the introduction of a new rythm section featuring Michi on drums and Aziz on bass aswell as Bo on second guitar and keys! We’re also planning to add a new horns section a.s.a.p.After numerous lineup changes, the iNSURGENTS have grown from an idea, to a side-project into a band who’s aim it is to transcend musical boundaries; an attempt to mix Hip Hop, Punk, Rap, Reggae, Dub, Funk, etc into something completely new...
