Mord is a noise rock collective consisting of musicians from some of the most remarkable Austrian outfits. Its musical existence is largely determined by the different musical approaches of its members – each of the musicians is usually surprising the others by playing his instrument exactly the way the rest of them never would think of.
Mord is mechanical beats, 2 drummers, samples, a bass, 2 guitars und 2 voices.
The music starts with some lo-fi rhythm samples, some basic rhythms. Then the other instruments are joining in, exploring their path through the jungle. Sometimes separately, often in joint venture. There are two drum sets, a bass and two guitars, whispering and screaming, gentle and brutal, while Bob Mord’s soulful voice tells us the story of the “king in high heels“, introduces us to his best friend, his dentist, and prophesies that “one day we’ll all be eating our own shitâ€.
Sometimes Mord’s music is based on wild rhythm patterns but still dominated by melodies.
Sometimes it’s just the other way round.Mord’s sounds vary from fragile to full-on, driving the music from almost complete silence to density. Extreme density.
