This year, Friday and Saturday,10 th to 11 th of July 2009, castle Falkenstein located in the Lower Austrian Region Weinviertel, will be the scene for the second OPEN WORLD FESTIVAL.
OPEN WORLD - B Seiten Sound LIVE:
The Iron Curtain fell nearly two decades ago and since the beginning of this year the boarder controls are history. This presents the opportunity to travel freely around Middle Europe, in order to exchange our experiences and thoughts and, of course, to celebrate a good Party together.
We have invited musicians form Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia and look forward to present them to a local and international audience including Yourself. Party on!Falkenstein is located right in the middle between the cities Brno and Vienna, close to the road number E 461.We recommend you to arrive by car or train. The closest train station is Staatz in Austria and Mikulov in Chech Republic. You will find all informations about how to get there on our website: www.openworldfestival.netThe village, especially it..s old stone pit, is geographically and naturally most suited for our project. Since the party is likely to last until late in the night, we propose you stay over night. There is a camping site or for those who like more comfort, a couple of bed and breakfasts in the village nearby. For those who only stay for one day or like to sleep at home, we recommend the usage of a taxi service- please don..t drink and drive!
PHILOSOPHY:
The non-profit association uoqbon, are standing for a tolerant together of all people. We, humanity, are all living on one and the same blue planet. From that perspective, nationalist thought is not more than a ridiculous, sometimes even dangerous, ideology, unsuitable to challenge regional problems with an international dimension. We are convinced, that an open society needs more than a call for voting every four years. Institutions of civil society, such as ours, are asked to use public spaces to add their ideas to an open society. In this light, also based on our opinion, that life should consist of more than work alone, but also party and excess, we have founded the OPEN WORLD FESTIVAL.supported by:
