About Me

Jeff Walburn is a singer/ songwriter living in Greenup Kentucky.
Coast to Coaster is his first solo CD, and he also has another CD available along with his band E.K. Station titled The Connoisseurs of a Wilder Life. He has performed on the syndicated radio program WMKY Americana Crossroads and has played at the Gibson Guitar Cafe. He has toured in Ireland and opened for the band Colombo at the Isaac Butts in Dublin, Ireland. He has played B.B. Kings club in Nashville with his band Kentucky Memories. He has also appeared on the Red Barn in Lexington KY, as well as Americana Tonight at Douglas Corner in Nashville. He is a member of the Americana Music Association and the Roots Music Association. Jeff is an accomplished writer having had songs recorded by Carla VanHoose of Lexington, who made "That's my Ole Ky Home" (included on Coast to Coaster ) the title tract to her "Kentucky Home" CD. His song "Lucille" (included on Coast to Coaster) has been covered by Nancy Apple and Rob McNurlin on their River Road or Rails CD on Ringo Records. This song included on that album reached 1 on the FAR Charts. Jeff received Rave reviews on the song "Lucille" from Rambles Magazine stating that Jeff Walburns effort on "Lucille" is "exceptional." Jeffs influences run from Johnny Cash to Dylan and the Byrds, but grew up listening to Hank Williams Carl Smith and Ray Price as well.
His new Coast to Coaster CD is 10 songs that cover the spectrum. Walburn sings of the Stars and of the Swamps, Trucks, and Hoodoos Murder and Longing, Faithless Love, Unfathomable Love, and Evil Eye Ragin Cajun Love! He sings about his love for Kentucky where his people came from and where he now lives along the Ohio River with his Bluegrass Girl Karen.
Don Rigsby ( courtesy of Sugarhill Records and a Grammy Winner) plays along with Jeff on Lucille with a vocal duet by Luna (stage name) Teresa Prince from Louisa Ky, who has the finest of Appalachian voices with smooth country roots to echo back the lyrics on this vengeful track on Coast to Coaster. Rigsbys Mandolin work on "Lucille" adds the perfect touch to this Golden Ring gone bad saga of jealousy and murder. On this CD Walburn also does a spicy cover of Rob McNurlin's "Dragon Lady," with Dave Morrison on Dobro.
