Dan Millane played in many bands as a young man before fronting popular Melbourne band “Velveteen†playing all the daggy favorites and being known affectionately as ‘The party band.’ Dan moved north in search of sun, sand and the relaxed lifestyle of Queensland to pursue a solo career and grow his own individual talents of voice and acoustic guitar. Since October ‘04, his big, powerful vocals and solid, acoustic guitar work have been heard on stages from Hervey Bay, all over Noosa Heads, the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane and now - since Jan ’07 - all throughout Adelaide. He’s quickly becoming known from club to pub; not only for his work ethic and professionalism, but also his cheeky humor on stage and his crisp, full sound. Sporting 6 and 12 string guitars and a “stomp Box†which thumps through the audience. Millane also plays a larger show with drummer Karl Pfitzner. With ongoing comments like "I can’t believe there are only 2 of you"- "it sounds huge" - "I can't believe it's not butter" and "..really? You don't use backing tracks?" the boys pride themselves on the sound achieved without sounding like a karaoke lounge!! Dan performs a range of popular songs from the last 30 years from the classic oldies through to today’s chart topping favorites. He has been successful in his endeavors as a performer due to the knack he has to include an audience and make them feel part of his show with a boogie and a giggle. He certainly doesn’t like blending into the background and will endeavor to entertain the toughest crowds. Dan Millane has made TV appearances in the top 100 of Australian Idol 2 years running and was amongst the top 24 guys from over 35,000 hopefuls in ‘06 Dan sings with heart and soul and is working on his first original album.
