"Partial Immersion" is the result of three months toil in the summer of 2006. This piece was originally composed for surround sound with each of the five instruments that one hears being isolated to a particular speaker for the duration of the composition.
Each instrument plays the same note for the duration of the composition. With rhythm and melody removed from the music the piece instead focuses electronically on the minutae of acoustic instrument sounds i.e. the partials or sinusoidal components of those sounds..
