About Me

If you believe as I do, that we are all products of nothing more than genes and memes, then you will understand my search to find that the opposite is actually true.
Sadly, we die and rot. Our only "afterlife" is likely the contribution of our organic matter to the environment which will later provide nutrients for other life forms that follow our own.
I do desire to believe in something more, however, and oscillate between 1) my pragmatic belief that faith in an invisible God is quite a desparate delusion and 2) my hope that I am not so insignificant as to fade from all memory within a few short years.
In the end, I guess I will only find out (or not) what awaits me at death when I get there. Recently, I was told that I would burn in Hell - ouch! I certainly hope not, but it seems that most people would choose that fate over their inevitable biological end - one that leads to oblivion.
I suppose it is better to believe that the dance will never end - even if it is a perpetual Macarena...
