S.I.K.

1989-1992

About Me

S.I.K. formed in 1989 at Bobby's dad's house in Marrero, Louisiana. The band's members were from all over the West Bank, from Marrero to Bridge City to Waggaman. We stuck around until early 1992 then called it a day.
We had no agenda.. just to play thrash metal (which incorporated funk and punk influences a bit down the line) and have fun.
The closest that we got to "fame" is appearing on a 7" compilation ep titled "New Orleans Scene:Allow No Downfall" with Soilent Green, Slugs (who later became Crowbar) and The Detrimentz.
In our lifespan as a band, we'd shared the stage with: Soilent Green, Slugs, The Detrimentz, Catch 22, Armed Response, No Destination, Malignant Minds, New Religion, Haate, Presto, Organized Confusion, Crucial Change (from Mobile, Alabama) and some southern rock cover band at the Buckwheat Festival in Manchac, Louisiana.(for real! this is no joke!)
After the band dissolved (which for some reason, nobody knows why...) Mike switched to drums and formed a band with Pig (and Aaron and Dave) which went through a few names before ending with Giant Robot Monster.
Presently, Mike and Brian and Aaron are in a band with a vocalist named William called Re/Fluxx . They are hoping to start playing in early 2007, so keep an eye/ear out for them.
S.I.K. were set to play a reunion show at Raise The Dead Fest on January 13th, 2007 at One Eyed Jacks, but Al backed out.
Here's an old video from our show at the Terrytown Country Club. September 29th, 1990. S.I.K.-
