JJ Jawnsun

JJ Jawnsun is a Pianist, drummer, DJ and multi-genre record producer currently residing in Los Angeles. His style has been compared to the likes of DJ Krush and Amon Tobin, in the sense that his signature style commonly fuses jazz, hip hop and soul with electronic elements. He listened to mostly jazz and Motown as a kid, but as he grew up he was exposed to hip hop, rock, metal and pop. Now he has focused his efforts on his production skills, and has unreleased material under several other aliases - J Kind, J Conscious and DJ Kind. His music through the years has caught the attention of several highly acclaimed artists such as Nas, Spice 1 and Mac Dre, and he is currently producing an album for rapper Johnny West in Beverly Hills, CA, due to be out by December 2007.As a DJ, he has ripped up major clubs and bars around the world with his intense, relentless deep minimal techno sets, as well as funky house – once again showing how diverse his tastes are. He has a devoted following and enjoys focusing on the mix, which in his words, “defines a true DJ and separates him from others that just want to get from one track to another. As I came to appreciate from two close friends / DJ mentors is the beauty of the mix, and it's inept ability to create a third song by blending two together.
